The swag brake will double the press’ usefulness to you. BTW, don’t check the latest HF flyer…

    :gossip: it’s on sale.

I saw it this morning and thought, “didn’t someone just buy it?” I hate when that happens. My local HF manager is chummy with me and once he mentioned that he’d match the sale price if I had recently bought something for more. Not sure if that’s a store policy or he was trying to hook me up, but might be worth asking.

Between the swag brake and my dimple dies, my press has paid for itself. I’ve already replaced the jack once after I blew a seal in the original one.

Bloody hell! Might go buy it again and return it with the old receipt. $25 cheaper

Oh weird, at first all I saw was the regular 249.99 price but yeah below it, it says $50 off.

But for some reason it's the same 199.99 price if you're a member?

Just a peon here, not a member.

Check the fine print for a restocking fee on these but I approve of this tactic more than the douche that proudly mentioned using tools and returning them when he’s done.

I think on this one members get "early access" to the "parking lot sale" price. Starts today for members, friday for non-members.

You aren’t lying about the pump action. First time I pumped it I thought something was wrong, the rod wasn’t extending fast at all.

The 1000# engine stand does good work. Got a 5VZ and a Mercedes OM617 diesel on a couple in the shop right now.

This happened to me about a year ago, I went back in bought the item and returned it on the different receipt.

It’s a lot simpler if you just talk to the manager though, because they will have to be there for the return anyway.

Figure I will stop by with my receipt and talk with a manager. Ask them first if they can just credit me the difference and if not ask if there is a restocking fee. If no restocking fee I will buy again and then return with the old receipt.

Anyone with personal experience withe the Predator 6500 watt generator?

    Screenshot_20230314_145338_Chrome.jpg

My generator has stopped producing energy, and I currently have no power, so no heat.....

This generator has good reviews reading online, and costs $639.

Just looking for personal reassurance before dropping the $.

No experience with that exact model but have one 7 years old from Northern Tool that looks very similar.

What are you looking to run? Do you have CNG/Propane and just need to run the fan and electronics or are you needing to run a heat pump, refrigerator and other stuff?

I ask because the inverter units are much nicer. Of course it's 3kw less and $200 more.

Basically looking to run majority of my small house. Pellet stove, fridge, microwave, well, lights.
Not concerned with extras such as tv's and electronics during outages.

A inverter of that size is 6-700 more.

I have a 220 plug in my garage that is set up to go to a portable generator, and a transfer panel in the house. My old generator is 6.8k and even ran my window ac units when it was a scorcher.

Unfortunately the engine on it is working great, but no power is coming out. I don't know how much money I want to put into fixing it as it's a no name of unknown age, and it was given to me. Plus that doesn't fix my immediate lack of power.

I understand and see that you've been hit with a winter storm. If HF has one in stock you should probably get it asap. Yeah.. that's what I was thinking of.. computers, electronics etc as this style genset isn't necessarily providing clean power. Perhaps someone else here with a Predator model will chime in.

Too bad I can't lend you mine as it's 7 years old and has something like 20 hours of runtime.
