So your shocks had the flutter on both ends from accutune? I can’t find anything on google about “double flutter”. Just Accutune results.

So there were two sets of flutters on the compression side? My rears I did 0.015 flutter for as the second shim. But fox has it between second and third?

I really really have to disagree with that statement. Linking a stock axle housing is stupid, so there goes 8k for an axle. Have to go to a cell unless you do a 3 link setup, which wouldn’t make much sense in my opinion. Double the shocks, should be caged at that point as well. I reviewed linking my truck during the cage build. It would have been over 20k by the time I was done. I’m like 5 deep in my rear as SUA. Maybe a little more.

I'm not sure if i actually had it, just when king saw the accutune stickers they made the comment that they do flutters on rebound and no one else does.

I was always under the impression that a "double flutter" was two flutter stacks on the compression side but I can't confirm from experience. A flutter on both circuits seems redundant in comparison to bleed but maybe they are on to something. Can't rag on anyone for trying new ideas.

Typically, a flutter is a smaller .08-.012 shim right after the largest shim in the stack. There is obviously no standard and you can change this in many ways but that's what you see most commonly. I wouldn't go thicker than a .012 shim or you won't engage the secondary stack nearly as often as needed and create a ton of "bleed".

Also, you three have nearly identical profile pics. Just an observation.

The only time I did a flutter the largest shim sucked into the piston leaving 4 oval pieces floating in the oil. Both sides, rear. Won’t do that again.

Maybe I’ll try either a 10 or a 12 for the flutter. I know I have 20’s and 15’s (wouldn’t use the 20). I’m going to measure tonight and see what I have.

Which diameter do you guys usually use? If I remember on the rear I used the second smallest one on top of the biggest shim.

Play with diameter. Diameter will also impact things. If the small softens it too much go bigger diameter.

Valving is really a never ending list of adjustments isn’t it. Fun to learn that’s for sure.

Lots of factors at play for sure. What exactly are you trying to accomplish and what kind of terrain?

It may have been a 10-fl-10-10etc. I don't recall. Fox shox btw. Now that I have my rear springs I'm in massive need of shock tuning but I think I need to start with replacing the pistons.

Better over smaller bumps (and street driving). Around here even when I do go off-road I don’t have any huge whoops or anything fun. That and I like messing around with things. It’s pretty close to where I want it just want to see what I can do with the front.

I can’t remember which page we talked about this when I wanted to revalve someone mentioned bleed holes. Apparently on my coilover all three are open.

Still did the flutter to what it does. Only posting this since it was discussed.
