I prefer it. Yellow is better for dust, fog, rain and snow conditions.

He’s talking about the plate lights shining into the backup camera while in reverse. It dims the image and reduces picture quality on the display in the cab.
The links go to two different options for remedying that situation

That's interesting I got 10hp with mine. Are you sure you have the ETC button engaged as well?

    Oh I misunderstood, I don't have a problem when it's in reverse.

All you really have to do is turn off your headlights when in reverse anyway. (Tag lights go out then.)
But truly, the camera changes with the headlight switch.

It isn't a worse image strictly because the tag lights wash it out; it's a worse image because the camera actually changes settings.
Such a better image with the headlight switch in the off position. (Not having tag lights on helps, but not as much.) Try it in the daylight and prove it to yourself.

Bummer if you have the auto-lights. Prolly not as easy to turn off your lights as it is for me - with the switch on the blinker stalk. I can turn off my headlights, leave my DRLs on for visibilty to others, and get the best camera setting. Love it and didn't have to mess with any wire harness.

Conversely, I installed a harness once and never have to even think about it again.

I’m not positive you read what you quoted…
The harness is a great idea and well executed, but isn’t even close to the same as switching the lights off

Nothing to the truck but tacoma got me with the evaporator purge cycle. Searched around my garage for the mystery noise until I located it beneath my truck. Quick search on forum calmed my fears that something was wrong.

Put on the door seal noise reduction mod... In my test drive the wind noise was terrible, so I got home and trimmed the back door parts of the seals, now it works much better.
