I got one of these (https://www.ecoological.com/store/p...HELLZ™_-_Chrome_Delete_Truck_Bumper_Caps.html) for my truck to delete the chrome and you would never know it wasn't factory just by looking at it.

Mine is holding up as good as when I first put it on about 2 years ago. If it ever decides to break or fail, then I'll probably opt for an aftermarket bumper. But for now it's been great.

I tried doing the rattle can bed liner to my chrome bumper. Probably didnt prep it well enough. Looked good for a while then started chipping all over the place. Recently went with that bumper shell mentioned and it looks way better. Only been on for a couple months, so can't say anything about quality/durability, but at $99 for the "armor coated" version its worth a shot.

Got myself good and stuck in the snow yesterday. Had to get roped out, but no issues to the truck or my fiancée and I. Didn’t get a close up, but the pass side 33” front tire was nearly buried.
Guess I should start considering a winch up front, and definitely more recovery gear. Didn’t have my come along with me - dumb move - and my tow strap was too short. Will get my gear sorted, and start thinking about a front bumper or at least a winch mount.

I tossed out the stock mud flaps ages ago, but I am starting to consider adding some aftermarket flaps. Anyone have recommendation? I like the Rokblokz mud flap set I see online. I just want something understated and plain, with minimal branding.

A bit pricey, yes, but I love mine. It blocks whichever vent you attach it to from fully closing, but aside from that, it's the perfect solution (at least for me) for a phone mount. I definitely recommend it.

I've had two sets of rokblokz, love them. Gave the first set to my neighbor. Now run the oversized set

I put a winch bumper on my 08 soon after getting myself very stuck and stranded in the woods for a few hours with no cell service. I don't feel like the low profile bumper winch set up really effected the trucks performance at all. I was so happy with it I got one for my 2015 as soon as I bought the truck.

Installed a second trans cooler last night. I just need to top off the fluid. This should help keep my trans temps down while towing our 4k lb travel trailer for the next year or more while we live on the road. 20230308_180053.jpg 20230308_190649.jpg

i thought about throwing a bigger trans cooler into the stock location in front of that driver side radiator. under the horns and running a fan like a GX series. and an FJ radiator likely as well a bit bigger but should still fi.t all the cooling I can get, and maybe an electric fan instead of the engine driven fan so I can warm the truck up faster in the colder mornings.

Yeah I was thinking about a electric fan as well but I will get to that if I see temps to high for my liking.

Ya the tune was helpful. In my 6-speed with 152k miles it upgraded my ECU 5 better versions before the tune even took place. The fueling and cam timing and and all that already makes a difference. Driving home the 2.5 hours in high elevations I didn’t have to down shift to go up hills. So it should just bring all of your modifications together and make it work more efficiently. Definitely worth it.

I ordered the tape off of eBay that gives you individual switches, N green for low, setting and red for high setting, and each of the front two seats have individual heating elements that do the bottoms and the entire back. I haven’t install them yet but I’m excited to see how they turn out. The switches are identical to my girlfriends 2018 RAV4 hybrid.

Do you think I’d have to reinstall the factory fender flares to install the Rokblokz mud flaps?
Maybe I can just get away with drilling some custom holes in the flaps.

Don’t want to reinstall factory flares. I would rather paint match some flush plastic OEM style fasteners to plug the fender holes instead. Have most of supplies on hand to do that… just need some Bondo for the plugs.
