Firearm BS thread

My used to be "cheap" carry handle AR I bought turned out pretty good. Decided to run it as an A2 clone. Had to replace the barrel assy, bcg and trigger in this pic. Got a new lower receiver on order. And I'm going to use the 3 prong flash hider that was on the original barrel. Enough though it's not technically correct.

 

Looks like the same guy did the work on that as an abomination of a Nagant I shot one time that someone bubba'd to put a scope on. It was some random dude that rolled up while we were shooting and asked if he could squeeze off a few rounds. After talking with him I'm pretty sure there was alot of meth involved between him and his gunsmith...

Got the EDC mounted up in the Tacoma. We the People IWB and their mount. Works pretty good.

 

Went to dinner with the parents and my dad very excitedly told me that he stopped by the gun shop and put the new “equalizer” on layaway.
I guess it’s only fitting that my dads name is Elmer since he is a fudd…

 

I guess I'm not up on the news. Why is buying a S&W with an easy slide pull a Fudd move?

 

I think he’s mostly calling fudd based on the fact he called it the equalizer…

Hahahahaha this one wasn’t on my radar. Wasn’t aware of that model. I thot he just put money down on a pistol and called it the equalizer.

 

You know your dad better than any of us. So if that is something he totally would do, then that's hilarious.

 

Mainly the fact that he bought it because of the very large font on the side of the slide.

I personally like the concept of the equalizer, just don’t want the grip safety, not a fan of the font on the side and the name, and I don’t really care about internal hammer vs striker fired.

He bought it mainly for the font on the side, he won’t put an optic on it (he only puts optics on his bolt action rifles, nothing else), won’t use the rail, and it’ll go in an uncle mikes nylon holster to sit in a safe for the next 2 years before he decides he should probably shoot it.
