Welp. Some not so good news. Bad roof damage... (Not as bad as originally thought)

Reorganized the garage some and made room for my truck! I don't have to park it outside while I'm gone! Played with the dent a little more as well and it looks even better! I guess metal does have some memory. I bet if I took the liner off I could get it even better. Not perfect, but definitely not destroyed. Weeee!!!

Does not look too bad, You can always add a Plano box, a Hi-Lift jack and an awning to your rack and the damage will be undetectable.

Agreed, though I think I'm going to at least have insurance look at it. I doubt they'll total at this it point so it could mean a nice looking roof with a fresh coat of paint for $500 (deductible). It doesn't show it in the photos, but the paint on the roof is by far the worst on the truck. Very thin and faded. I once had a quote to have it done outside of insurance and it was $1400.

I spoke with a Geico rep an hour ago and asked if once the damage is assessed if it exceeds the value of the car whether they total it or not. She said no...that it's up to me to decide how to proceed and they will honor that by cancelling the claim if I choose. Life goes on as usual, insured normally.

Shit. They have to replace the roof. It suffers from "oil canning". AKA the metal has lost its rigidity and is flip flopping. 20% chance it'll be totaled. I guess we'll find out.

Cost to repair the truck will be 4,672.32 so it's not going to be totaled! Yay!!!

As a one time Insurance Agent (10 years), I would say turn it in to your Insurance Company. Your resale value is probably "caved in" too. Bummer

Nah, not gonna do that. I have no plans to get rid of the truck. No need. It's a work horse and I plan on keeping it forever.

You don't happen to know a buddy of mine in Truckee last name "Raymer"? Retired Cal-Fire?

Hell yeah! Sounds like someone I should know. Where does he live in Truckee? Meadow Park as many locals do?

Ah. Another spot where the locals live. I bike up in Glenshire via the legacy trail.

I like that natrual grocery store in Grass Valley. Their burger joint inside is amazing - try it out if you find yourself around those parts!

    Edit - Briarpatch grocery store.
