Manual windows and no cruise control weren't enough?

    I’m not surprised by anything.
I start to get suspicious if things actually make sense.

Also, the Chevy S-10 and GMC Sonoma got intermittent wipers standard across the board beginning in 1994; I'm pretty sure the Ford Ranger got them standard earlier than that. The Mazda B-series had intermittent wipers starting in 1986, though it was a set speed and not variable-speed. My old boss's 2005 Honda Element, which still has, does not have the variable-speed function (just a fixed intermittent speed). The RAV4 since probably 2013 has had fixed-speed intemittent wipers on the base LE model as well; Amanda and I were looking at used RAV4s (2020-2022ish) at Peruzzi Toyota the other day, and the LE she sat in had the fixed-speed while the XLE and Limited they had on the lot did not.

I find it funny that in 1993, a no-frills Chevy C/K with an AM radio and no A/C had intermittent wipers standard; I have a 1993 brochure and yes, an AM radio was still standard on the Cheyenne. It was digitally tuned and I believe it had a clock, but all GM trucks had an AM radio standard until 1993-1994.

We are talking about the absense of certain convenience features on Tacomas that we generally take for granted...

I think the Tacoma is the only vehicle in their lineup where they play these games, they know people will buy them no matter what.

I think the base model 1st and 2nd Gen Tundras lacked intermittent wipers too...

    It's a start..and no power locks haha

True but the engine works in our trucks better than GM trucks haha.

But seriously, it would seem that if they wanted to pinch pennies it might have been better to nix the CD player option.

Can confirm the 2005 Rav4 LE we had did get the variable speed wipers and the 2014 LE we have now is just the fixed intermittent.

Tacos had a CD player standard from 2005 to 2019, with AUX input finally coming along for MY2009...

You could also settle on a Sport AC MT, however when l was faced with that choice l just went with the DC OR instead.

I really only want the OR wheels, and my uncle is in the hubcap and wheel business, so he could get me a deal on a set...

The OR wheels would look good on your truck.
