If it was reported stolen seven to ten days ago I’m thinking it’s pretty sketch from a fraud standpoint

It’s been abandoned longer than ten days probably two weeks

When I cleared off the windshield to look for a dead body inside there was a small bald eagle emblem on the dashboard and it looked super clean inside. Doors locked
I picked up some shooter garbage which was full soda cans shot at close range resulting in shredded aluminum

Pretty much at this point it’s pretty clear the owner doesn’t want anything to do with it for better or worse

Leaving garbage in our public lands is not cool. It’s especially wrong in a beautiful area

When conditions allow I will make a go around this eye sore

We could have saved this truck with a little common sense from the authorities but bs prevailed. Now it’s just a line item for some insurance company and an eyesore on our public lands

Thanks to those that tried to help. Don’t give up the fight for good. Without hope we nothing but despair

I also question where it was located, why was it locked, and why does it not seem stolen. The Sheriff I spoke to said it's up to the owner to arrange recovery and that he could not give out the owners info. I was impressed that the info went from the WSP, to the King County Sheriff and they even attempted to get to the vehicle. At this point, there isn't much we can do besides hope the owner reaches out to W.O.R.N. I gave the officer the info to pass on to the owner, and I mentioned we had volunteers who could get it moved down to the main road.

All we can do is to keep fighting to help each other out.

If it ends up needing to be recovered, I can get up to it. Let me know if you hear anything.

At this time, I have not heard anything, the local Sheriff's have done what they can, the only other option at this point is to wait until the snow melts, and then hope someone can tow it down to the main road without having the keys. The only real info we have is that it was reported stolen, and was found.

Insurance won't pay out until the vehicle is missing for more than 30 days, so that would not be the case here.

Why are you so worried about this random truck in the woods? The cops don’t seem to care and the owner doesn’t seem to care either.

You did everything you could when you reported it to the cops a week ago.

See, you are making an assumption that the cops don't care, and that the owner doesn't care. What if this truck was the owners only vehicle, their only way to and from work? I know the officer I spoke to cares, he tried to get up there but couldn't with the vehicles they have available to them. He didn't have to drive all the way up there, he could have just said, oh well, and went on with his day.

The reason I care, is because it's the right thing to do, if we take care of others, when we need help, others will be willing to help us.

Maybe some of you.out there are just looking for full on chaos, but the world doesn't work if we don't help each other.

Are you saying that's a statewide policy? I seem to remember that when my truck got stolen from me in college, I was given a payout fairly promptly... the 1986 Ford Ranger XL was never recovered. I miss the 2 gas tanks.

I know someone who recently had a vehicle stolen and they wouldn't pay him until it had not been found for 30 days. It was an insurance policy standard, because people were dumping vehicles and then reporting them as stolen and getting paid out immediately.

In the end, you have two choices in life, you can be evil, or good, you choose.

Geeze no need to make assumptions about me. I’m not saying never help people. In fact I’m the first to pull over and help someone if they’re broken down or stuck. No need to get so holier than thou.

Theres lots of other things you can do to save the world other than posting daily updates on this abandoned truck.

That might be true but if that’s what he want to do who cares….he certainly isn’t hurting anyone/thing. He is a concerned citizen trying to help where he can.

My .02 now I will be on my way
