What kind of lateral pressure is the struct eng thinking there is? Single #5's at 12" OC each way doesn't seem like he's thinking much lateral load.

At least 4 years in a state/federal penitentiary.

Most rodbusters I have had the pleasure of dealing with have all been to prison, not jail, for any variety of offenses. Hard working sons of bitches though, give them that. It's not an easy job dealing with the big stuff (i.e.-#9 or bigger). That shit starts getting heavy.

IDK , I'm not the engineer but he's good so I'm not worried at all . Standard residential foundation wall here is usually 15m bar at 18" OCEW . Here we have 18" , 16" and 12" in the different walls for different loading

Home improvement yesterday and today consisted of cleaning out a 4 year old LG fridge (LMXS28626D) with a failed compressor. I bought it through Costco for $2500 ($2817.48 if you add tax and extended warranty:bananadead:) and it's supposed to be covered through squaretrade until August of 23. However, squaretrade claims they don't have anyone qualified to fix it. They connected me to LG who's sending someone out next Monday and want me to pay upfront and they'll cut me a reimbursement check.

LG's website says 5 year warranty on parts and labor for compressors and 10 years on linear compressors. Going to ask the tech about that before he begins any work.
I might just buy a new fridge instead. On the plus side the 20+ year old Maytag fridge in the garage is getting us by till a resolution comes. :boom:

    Don't buy LG fridges. :smash:

Drywall is a pain in the ass, like your idea of putting paper on the floor.

Paper isn’t me, spendy drywall guy subbing to some real workers who have done nice work.

for the doorbell transformer, my Ring package arrived today so I’ll mount it tomorrow. Sticking with low voltage out the drywall just like before. I’d prefer it through the box but unless I pull it, that ship has sailed. Round faceplate w 1/2” knockout to mount the transformer to just like before. Not sexy but it works.

I wouldn't sweat the mount for the doorbell transformer. Mines been hanging around since 1996. Installer didn't even run all the wires through the mount plate.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
We had the similar issue with Frigidaire Upright. The plastic piece that made up the door interior wasn't made right and the door wouldn't seal at the top. It constantly filled with frost. Frigidaire said they would send someone out. We didn't hear anything for a few weeks so we asked them what was going on. They said they didn't have anyone in the area to fix it. Ok, how are you going to fix it then? The gave us an RMA to return the freezer. We were credited the cost on our Lowes card and bought a Midea. It was the only one in stock at our store that was equivalent in size. No complaints with the Midea.

Yep, customer service was helpful only if you initiated each conversation.

To top it off, I tried to fix it myself originally since I thought it was a bad seal. I ordered on from Sears and it was backordered. When we were told to return the freezer I tried to cancel my order. They wouldn't cancel it. I tired filing a claim with Paypal and they wouldn't help either because the order wasn't canceled. I'm out $70

I just looked back into it. Paypal notified me they couldn't do anything until the order was canceled. I had until Aug 10th to notify Paypal when the order was canceled. They sent me that response on Aug the 9th. Sears couldn't cancel it that fast.
