I went out to the truck after it had been parked for 12 hours and heard the sound of a small motor running. No idea how long before I walk out but ran for at least five minutes went under the truck to file the noise and found this it was coming from whatever this is. I’m not a mechanic so I’m just asking is it normal? Is the dusty black box in the picture and it is connected to the electrical that goes to the lights in the back. I have video of the sound it was making if necessary. I’m sure it’s nothing but I am interested in learning something new. Any clarification helps. Thx

My 07 Corolla has the same "fuel line evaporator" system that exists on my new Tacoma. After sitting for a few hours it cycles through.

Toyota documents it clearly in the user manual ... on page 178 of 250, using a total of 4 lines on a single page.

I am not even worth a $.05 bullet. A bomb is far too much effort.

normal... and this is why you charge your battery monthly. if it sets a while, many drains on this truck, can drain/kill the battery. Ski
