I know, I've been checking every day. The price still went up tough.

Honestly, here's what I would do, I would go and build a setup on 1stgenoffroad, they really have it dialed in over there. Now, in the past, when I was building up a 1st Gen Tundra, (Same Suspension Design) as a 3rd Gen Tacoma. I would scroll down to the bottom of the page, and send them an email or call them, ask about the 5100's, what springs they would recommend. The brand isn't really all that important, ARB, Dobinsons, I cannot even remember which springs are in my Tacoma right now, I have two different brands, one are a 600lb spring, gives a similar to stock ride, soft but controlled. The 650lb springs are stiff, more sporty of a ride, and you feel every bump especially offroad without the extra weight of a bumper and winch on the front.

Here's the link to their Custom Suspension Recommendation Request page, they know nearly everything there is to know about Toyota Suspensions and they are honest and will give you good advice.

Stock unless you get a plate bumper and winch.

You can also keep the stock springs with them for a good ride on and off-road. Yes- mine has them also and I off-road with a lot of weight in back and on top of the cab. I only occasionally put weight up front on my Curt receiver and also have a full set of Mobtown steel skids underneath.

Isn’t 600 stock coil over weight for a TRD OR? I’ve read so much now I forget what’s what but that sounded familiar. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

EDIT: sorry I responded without seeing there was another page. Never mind

x2 here. I was expecting a harsh ride after installing 5100 last weekend and I was surprised to see that it is not what some here claims… actually I think that oem sr Hitachi shocks are stiffer than 5100. Yes, it is a former ride but it is not like driving a brick or lowered car for track…. Hell no…

Did the the deed yesterday. 5100s all all around (standard length) and a single Deaver add-a-leaf. Taking it to the shop for an alignment this morning. The camber is definitely off on the front.

@bcgill keep your stock springs? If so, which perch did you put them on?

Your going to have a much greater than factory rake with a 1.1" front lift and a 1.5" rear unless you plan to have some weight on the rear.

I'm not knocking it. I like the factory rake myself..... just not in excess. ;)

Yep I know and I'm OK with it. I'm having a camper shell added later in the month which should cut down on the rake a bit.

Also in typical fashion, I forgot to measure everything before I started so I don't know exactly how much lift I got in the back.

I should also say thanks to everyone here and those that responded to my DMs (conversations) for advice on how to get this done. It was extremely useful.

I have a 2017 DCLB with 5100s all around and an add-a-leaf. I run a canopy and I sit ~1.5 up in the front and .5 in the rear. I will say after two years of this set up a few long road trips and light off road use (forest roads) I wish I would have replaced the leaf pack. My factory leafs are starting to suffer and I get a little sagging when I load up now... sorry if this has been said before

That's good to know. This the setup I have and the same use I intend to use the truck for. I'm committed to the setup for the time being but it will be something I'll look out for.

I will say it was an improvement over stock and still is. Enjoy it!
