2017 Tacoma question

Hey all, I’m thinking about getting a 2017 with 92k miles. Looks really clean. The giant elephant in the room is it’s got a rebuilt title, and according to the seller, the engine has been replaced/rebuilt because the first owner was trying to cross a river and his exact words are “last owner crossing river and engine come from air filter”. I’m trying to get some more info from him, but English is clearly not his first language. Has anyone here know of anything like this happening and if I go to look at the truck, what are some things I really need to look deep into?

 

I would never consider a vehicle that was rebuilt ...and its been in the River..

I wouldn't take a flood salvage for free.

 

He’s asking 22 for it, but seeing everyone’s reactions here no one is gonna even get close to that price with him

I too would pay $22.00. I’m sure you can find a clean title 100k mile truck for not much over $22k.
