I've been searching for high quality door sill protectors for a few weeks now for my '04 Double Cab Tacoma. Pickins' are thin.....
I've been researching the product produced by G-Tek Fab and was very impressed with what he is providing. As most of you reading this will undoubtedly know, he does not currently have a product line for the Gen 1 Tacoma.
I am nothing if not persistent..... and after a bit of persuasion (belly aching, in reality) G-Tek has graciously consented to work up a prototype set for me.
He is sending me a set for fitment this week.
I'll keep updating the progress here as things develop.
If you have any interest in these please let him know here...… your feedback will influence his decision to pursue development

    Thanks

 are you thinking the scuff plate?
but i have actually seen an old Tacoma truck for sale locally that was missing most of the door sill due to a serious rotting out, just a big open hole there where the door closed over

This just doesn't seem that hard. To extend the coverage over my truck's sills, I got a pair of Ventshade universal ABS plastic sill protectors, cut them down a little to fit the width of my 2003 DCs sills, and used the pre-fitted double-stick tape to mount them. I've been running them for three or four years now.

As supplied alongside installed. It takes about two rows of nubs to be cut off for the sill to slip under the door seal and fit the outboard curve.[IMG]

The link shows a dot pattern now, not a line.

I guess the've changed the pattern since i ordered mine from Amazon.

Mine have the pattern shown in this vendor's link, although this isn't where I ordered them. Maybe an older photo here.

    Greetings everyone.

I have (2) sets of brand new Auto Ventshade universal fit #88407, black, door sill protectors, Amazon mistakenly sent me extra shipments and they don't want them back. I paid $46.49 per set, and there are (2) pieces in each package. A 2004 double cab truck like mine requires (2) sets.

    NOTES:
    • These sill protectors have the elongated line pattern, not the dots.
    • You must cut these to fit in the front and rear for a double cab truck.
    • I highly suggest getting some 3M double-sided 1/2 or 3/4 inch wide tape because the tape on the backside of the parts is thin and won't last long.
Contact me if you are interested in them.

Here is the original Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00062YD0K?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

    Cheers :)
