Living the dream. Marsala chicken but I had no mushrooms so I went with green peppers. This wine is fantastic to cook with.

 I'm making "carbonara" tonight. It started as "I'm making Carbonara" and then so far we're at "Bacon will be fine", "I think I'm going to be lazy and use dried pasta instead of making my own tonight", and now ultimately "I think just bacon alfredo sounds pretty good"

@TreeFortRichard Help me here since I know you've been swept up in splits/RS before - I have 300 shares with TD.

    upload_2023-3-9_8-48-24.jpg

that means (per split, so even if I had 1, or 1 million shares) I would get "charged" 38$ cash? They'd debit the cash amount that much (I won't get into "what if I don't have that in cash", let's just assume I have 40$ sitting there for that)

It looks like if you call and ask they might reneg on it for you?

    upload_2023-3-9_8-50-23.jpg

(but in that case, maybe it was because of the low stock ownership)

And the logic being - maybe it makes sense to sell it off before and buy back after, if the taxes are less than the reorg fee (or I get to capture losses).

edit - I also have QTY 1 Jan 2025 call

It's easy. There's no rule that says IF A AND B AND C AND D AND E AND F THEN RECESSION. If you don't want to be in a recession, just say "we aren't in a recession" and that's all that matters!

BBIG will never get the votes for the increase in authorized shares. Unless they run it before APR 15.

Four Biggest U.S. Banks Lose $47 Billion in Market Value

    upload_2023-3-9_15-24-27.jpg
The four biggest U.S. banks lost $47 billion of market value in Thursday trading, part of a broad rout across financial stocks.

Bank investors were spooked by SVB Financial Group's decision to sell a large chunk of its securities portfolio at a $1.8 billion loss as it deals with an outflow of deposits, which more than halved the technology-focused bank's stock.

    • JPMorgan lost about $20 billion in market value Thursday.
    • Bank of America lost roughly $15 billion.
    • Wells Fargo's market capitalization was down $8.5 billion.
    • Citigroup's was down $3 billion.
The banking industry has more than $600 billion in unrealized losses on its securities holdings, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the result of stowing extra cash in bonds when rates were super low. Now that rates have risen, the prices of the bonds have gone down significantly.

Banks likely won't have to sell their bonds at a loss unless they have big outflows of deposits. But fears of such losses combined to hammer the stocks.

Truist Financial, Charles Schwab, JPMorgan and Capital One Financial each have more than $10 billion in unrealized losses on securities that they classify as available for sale, according to Performance Trust Capital Partners, which advises banks on balance sheet strategy.

The KBW Nasdaq Bank index was on pace for its biggest decline in almost three years.

I sold a covered call on VTI on Monday (Tuesday?). I bought it back the same day, made 60$

Probably could have expired worthless and made $280.

    :notsure:

You lost donuts, though, so like, that's more my speed.
