    Some research was completed today.

On my '05 specifically, power is pin 10 as indicated (duh) and ground pin 9 as indicated (duh).
The temp setting appears to be pin 6.
My plan is a simple harness for those who don't need the temp inverted, I have a small handful of connectors which showed up today. I do need to prioritize existing orders before diving into that new stuff though.
Then for my '05 I have enlisted my bro in law to help fab a voltage inverter board which will tap power, ground, temp in and provide temp out. So I'd do a more complicated harness with a 4 pin connection to that board, wrap it in heat shrink, and we'd have a plug and play solution for the new style climate controls in older trucks. We'll see how smoothly that goes once I get to testing.

I also got a 2015 radio today and realized two problems:
    1. Trim doesn't line up with the vents (gotta research that one)
    2. Antenna doesn't plug in (another thing to research)

Anyway, overall good news, slowly moving forward.

Am I correct assuming people would prefer a plug and play harness to soldering the board? I know I would but I might be in the minority. This won’t be a terribly cheap option but it does seem to allow a clean resale of the silver controls.

Off the top of my head I don't remember the antenna being an issue. But yeah, trim is different. There are some threads about all of this. I put a 2014 head unit into my 2010 (both JBL units) and it took some work to figure it all out but ended up working great. IIRC I was able to get everything to work as it should except for the Sat radio - which I could have done but didn't because I don't pay for satellite radio and never plan to do so.

I got tantalizingly close to wiring up my harness today. I had some trouble with the VSC 4 pin connector so I will have to redo that. Also need to dig up the pin layout for the 16 pin as I’m not sure what goes where without that. The male seems more foolproof based on the supplied images. The board previously tested out good on the bench though it doesn’t quite get to fill supply voltage, and doesn’t go past 0.2v either on the low side. But when testing with the old school silver one I don’t think it went all the way to zero either.

Stagnant. Kitchen remodel (gutted) and a family trip last week so I closed the store and then slammed with orders right now.

    it’ll happen at some point.

I did a bit of work on harness #2 early this morning, based off my harness #1 as a template, now that I have the proper colored wire. And my rear shocks showed up. So, I may actually have some incentive to get this installed and confirm it works properly.

Yeah, I have an ‘05. If I try to mass produce I might do the fancy with a loop back or I guess I have to do two different ones.

First test drive. Looks nice. Temp doesn’t change. Back to the drawing board.
