yes I know here's another tire question

    I have a 17 tad off road
im looking at the falken wild peak a/t3w or the toyo open country a/t iii

I mainly use the truck on the street during the winter I go hunting and need the off road tread going back in the woods

    what's everyone thought

It’s coke or Pepsi question. Most people are just going to tell you whatever they are running is the best but those are both good options so either way you will be fine. I would probably go with the falken. This is based on absolutely no data whatsoever.

It's not that simple. I run the AT3's and they're the best. o_O

Those two are pretty comparable. I think when you are using tires for basic off road stuff like you described, either would be just fine. If you’re going off road during the winter you probably want to make sure you get something that has the 3 peak mountain snowflake rating.

I don't have them yet, but after a ton of research that's what I will be getting.

If your looking for the most aggressive A/T tire, check out the Duratracs. They are the closet thing to a M/T tire, (with the best rim protection), and come with the 3 peak snow designation.

Mildpeaks are similar to the Goodyear Kevlar Highway tires that come with your Off Road.

I've never had a Goodyear tire that was actually round.

Toyo, OTOH, those are some of the roundest tires I've ever had. Like riding on glass. I doubt you'd go wrong with the Toyos.

Worst noise and traction I’ve ever experienced in a tire.

Any AT tire will be just fine. Get one that looks the best to you.

Yes. But it’s a hybrid tire not AT.

Beasts off road and in packed snow though.

If you use your truck mainly to off-road then sure.

I think one of the coolest looking tires out there. Sidewall looks pimp.

If you like the look of the Duratrac but don't want loud tires, go to Discount Tire Direct and check out the G/Y Ultra Terrains. I absolutely hate Goodyear tires but these Ultra Terrains are the best performing, best riding truck tire I've ever had.

When you say "going back in the woods" does not tell us much. Is this on forest service roads? Will the roads be covered in snow? Do the roads get plowed if covered in snow? Just a few questions I would be considering. But since you are primarily on the road, go with a conservative AT tire then carry chains for all 4 wheels when you go hunting if there is any chance of snow or ice.
