You're gonna find out that the price of that missing shark fin multi-function device that used to occupy that hole in the roof surpasses the repair cost of the dent in the corner of your cab. Thank god for insurance.

Is the shark fin only for satellite radio and roadside assist or does it do anything else?

I was thinking of removing mine.

I was not trying to be joker or to say "told you so". I recall very well the pain when the door tore off the spoiler/wing. And the pain of spending too damned much just to get it close to what it was before (paint, parts, labor ...).

Check MESO. I believe it also contains the "talk to Toyota for for over the air updates" antennae.

No worse feeling than when you screw yourself! Sorry for you brother, try not to let it grind your gears too much. We've all been there in some form or fashion.

Were you backing out of a garage at Fort Knox? The garage door sure looks like it won.

I’m not an auto body guy, but I think heavily damaged roofs, are usually a cut and replace job.
Years ago; my father took my mom’s brand new (like less than 200 miles) Accord to work when she was out of town. Low and behold; a massive hail storm hit the area his work was in. It took forever for them to get a new roof in, as there weren’t any in the salvage yards yet and all body parts like that went to new production.

They cut center section out, under roof moldings and replaced with oem roof panel. The side above doors, between doors and roof molding was also cut out and replaced drivesside, from top of A pillar to C pillar.

After all, it’s old and worn out with 500 miles on it.

I rubbed the roof rack of an FJ on a garage door once. I was afraid to even look at it, but the scuff came right out, and I considered myself very lucky.

We’ve all been there, no judgement. Post up some pics after it’s all fixed up.
