Thought about it especially when it's -10 to -50. But what a paint to do.

Well I'm cooler than that I guess. Like today I. The way home was at 105 basically the whole drive home.

But doesn't seem to be an issue either way.

I doubt it makes a difference in an automobile transmission being that they are rarely warmed up completely prior to being hammered on. The thermal expansion of different components can have an effect on proper gear meshing. How much this negatively effects the longevity of a gearbox I have no idea.

Like a reheated cod filet in the workroom microwave.

@Blackdawg make sure you route the cable to the receiver as out of the way as possible, something about the rubber or poly material is like catnip for deer, they chew through my buddy's regularly. I've spliced it maybe four or five times now.

Huh interesting. My buddy hasn't had any issues with his just laying in a field. But doesn't matter. I ran conduit to the attic to put the dish on the roof. Not that I need it to be that high..but whatever. Haha

Hey all. Going to be traveling from VA to Wyoming April through June property hunting. I’m retired military and a current contractor. Heard about Jackson last spring when I was out there. F all that. Will be starting in Johnson county and well to be honest just wandering and looking.

Two things: I was out there last year and talked to a few realtors. Out of 7, 6 never called me back. What is up with that? If any of you know a realtor that is reliable please forward me their info. I’m not financing anything will be buying outright. Maybe they thought I was like a construction contractor or something but I just don’t get it.
Second, I like beer, bourbon, and bs. If anyone wants to grab a beer I’m going to be in the entire state for almost 3 months. Let me know. Thanks.

alright brain trust, what do yall think is wrong: Truck has gotten a shudder in the drive train when accelerating up to about 20. Its more exacerbated when climbing a grade at slow speed and accelerating to 20. If i accelerate really slowly I can avoid it. It doesent do it on slick roads, but on dry roads when there is plenty of traction it will happen. It does this in both 2wd and 4wd. It doesen't happen at high speeds, only low speeds when moving from a stop. It seems like the transmission loads up then releases and sometimes does this shudder. We checked all the u joints, theyre all tight, no slop.

At first a buddy thought it was a carrier bearing, because we took a video and saw the driveshaft jumping all around in the CB. But after replacing it, its still happening just as bad. My thought is its the torque converter. I suppose it could be axle wrap...but ive got the chevy 63s, and while they have had many years of use and have softened up, they certainly have all their shape left, and i cant imagine that they have gotten so weak that they allow axle wrap with my little 2.7l engine.

Thoughts? Something else? Should i replace the torque converter or the rear leafs first? Or could it be another part entirely.

torque converter is possible. But I'd think it would show signs at higher speeds too under heavy loads. Like going up a pass at speed for instance.

    And CEL or pending CEL?

could be the flex plate too possibly.

Been moving this week. Starting moving the garage shit. Wow I have a ton of parts for projects I never got to do haha 2 rear shock relocation kits. Hydro bumps. PS cooler. Full timing belt kit. Valve cover kits. Shock stuff. Tons.

Hopefully get to put some of this shit on in the new garage. But I already want a bigger shop...

Heres hoping the interest rates will come down in the next few years.

I would have guessed CB or ujoints too. It isn't axle wrap. That typically happens under braking, then releases when you let off the brakes.

Rear diff or pinion maybe? Have you had the rear axle up on jack stands to see/hear what is happening when it's in gear. Could be the trans/TC I suppose.

I also wouldn't re out miss firing. I thought I had slipping issues and it turned out it was just miss firing stuff. Needed new coil packs.

And it's back now so probably bad injectors or something else.

Nah those I think are smaller right than my 03? And maybe a different connector?? Can't remember..I thought the early ones were slightly smaller perhaps. Or am I imaging that?

I had it in the air doing the cd and spun the tires, everything sounds and feels fine in the diff. It really feels like a trans issue. Not sure if it might be 2nd gear not shifting properly? Like if its rolling and it revs up and not shifting that might make sense why it revs up and up and eventually shifts really poorly? Not sure if its the TC or 2nd gear tho.

See above as well, i really dont think its an engine issue. it runs fine the rest of the time, and the engine sounds like its running fine when it does the shudder, but it comes out in the drive line violently. It kind of seems like as it gets worse the truck revs higher before actually getting into gear and moving again

Yeah sounds like a misfire to me. Went through something similar on the AMG recently. Felt like trans was fumbling around. Slow driving and WOT felt fine but high load, low rpm it would shake/stumble and feel like the trans is trying to go up and down gears but can't make up it's mind. Did not get misfire codes but new coils fixed it and brought back a lot more power. You're looking at $40ea for your truck. Something to consider.
