Project is on hold, while we wait for a special order A/C compressor bracket. Only thing done since then is having secured the fuel line to the chassis with rivnuts.

 

Where’s the dedication? Shouldn’t you be out in the driveway right now working on something??

 

@Lurkin, yes. I'll be working a 1GR turbo manifold this Saturday afternoon.

 

So how much boost can a built 1GRFE take do you think? Hopefully infinite.

 

I feel that the 11mm studs/bolts need to be tapped for larger. 12mm or better. Then, it would handle a lot of power easily. There are a few racing twin turbo 1GR's out there. One is had by Ken Gushi. I believe his is making ~1k.

Yes it is. Got a lot of non mod stuff taking up a lot of time right now too. So going too slowly on making manifolds as well. Soon enough though.

 

I'll tell you this: I can't fathom what it would be like with an LS swapped BRZ. I've had my turbo BRZ for two weeks now and it literally scares me how fast it is.

Your's is the only turbo vehicle I'd driven previously. I knew what I was in for when I bought it but it definitely puts you back in the seat when you step on it.

 

This will definitely be on another level, when we finish it. He really wants to turbo it, after this phase is completed. Sometimes though, II wish that he'd stuck with just going the turbo route with 8-10 psi, and called it good. It would have been long since done, and he'd be really happy, for exactly the reason you stated.

 

BRZ update. The correct A/C compressor bracket was sourced, ordered, and installed. Thanks to the help from @Lucario Runner . Three other online distributors had canceled the order, for whatever their reasons. The compressor bolted up fine. Next problem though, is that the crank pulley will have to be changed. Since the A/C pulley grooves are in a different location. What all else will be needed to be changed, is the next question? To match the grooves on the to-be-installed crank pulley.

 

As we wait on updated for the BRZ, from SIKKY, I have some time to keep working on turbo manif9lds. My schedule has been quite hectic lately, but with what time I've had I have made some progress on a 1GR passenger side manifold. Need to get a little further with it before it is ready for finish welding. A rather odd look to its design, but wanted to try a challenging form, and make it strong enough to support the turbo without a brace. I'll probably give in and add a brace anyway though. On the table, it is next to the start of a 2TR T3 merge collector.

 

Now this work was a huge improvement in night lighting and aesthetics. Used this 3M kit and Cerakote kit for the headlights and fog lights. They look as fresh and clear as new.
