Yes you are 100% correct but ethanol is not a villain.

Update again - I put 91 octane Shell, V-powa NITRO PLUS PLUS plus plUs

I am getting 53 mpg and my truck is now a decepticon. Yesterday, while in traffic, I transformed into optimus prime and Chester Bennginton was resurrected from the grave. He told me Epstein didn't kill himself and to stop paying my taxes because taxation is theft.

Clearly you are using the ECT button, probably have a TRD CAI and exhaust, and possibly a throttle body spacer. Cheater!

Koenigsegg builds a supercar that puts out 1600 hp on E85. Running pump gas, power is reduced to 1280hp. Like others have said, ethanol isn’t a supervillain if the motor is built for it.

Being an engineer myself, I really appreciate that you respect us as much as you do.

But engineers can be wrong or inaccurate with their calculations and recommendations. They often design things right to the very edges and limits to save money on various parts of the project. They can also be biased to us not supporting big oil :D

damn, all sold out due to fluctuations in the space-time continuum

    Detailed Description
    • Time Travel at your own RISK!
    • Plutonium is required to properly operate the flux capacitor
      • Plutonium is used by the onboard nuclear reactor which then powers the flux capacitor to provide the needed 1.21 gigawatts of electrical power.
      • Plutonium not available and O'Reilly Auto Parts. Please contact your local plutonium supplier.
    • Flux capacitor requires the stainless steel body of a 1981-1983 DeLorean DMC-12 to properly function.
      • Once the time machine travels at 88 mph (142 km/h), light coming from the flux capacitor pulses until it becomes a steady stream of light at which point time travel begins!

And "the engineers" aren't the ones ultimately making design decisions. It comes down to the regulations, accountants, marketing, etc., etc.

All my vehicles absolutely run better on 93.

When that isn't enough for you, I suggest you switch to solid rocket fuel. I think it is probably about 300 octane. It's better than supremeium.

it does make a significant difference. i keep going back and forth between 89 and 93 and there is a very noticeable difference. 87 just runs like crap, at least with the 2.7.

As far as 93, my 3.5 runs noticeably worse on it, but all our grades are e10. My truck runs exceptionally well with 87. From what I've experienced in the past, gasoline isn't the same quality across the country.
