So is this a wife or a girlfriend? If the former, then do what you have to do to keep her happy I guess. If the latter, then dump her like a sack of shit at the dog park, and use all the money you just saved for a bitchin trip to Vegas!

6" lifts are like those people who had a bit too much plastic surgery. I prefer to stay small and natural.

So what’s the best 6” lift, I still haven’t figured it out. Also, what’s the biggest front steel bumper I can fit?

    Approach angle? Ha!

With that thing you don’t have to worry about anything, just go right through the obstacles.

Holy shit...what type of mental gymnastics did your girlfriend put you through in order to convince you of this? None of it makes any sense...You gifted your girlfriend your Tacoma to keep from buying her a compact Subaru? And now she wants to put 6" of lift on said Tacoma?

Yeah you are...get a new gf, OP.

You got my curiosity now. What kind of bumper is this? Does it just bolt on over your existing bumper?

Worst idea ever to do a bracket lift just so you can run 35” or bigger tires. Cutting that center beam off for one, two ~ yeah it can be welded back on, but it’ll never be like from Toyota, good luck on alignments. Another factor is if you’ve only have $3500, it’s going to cost much more for extra parts to get it right. You might want to do a lot more research before doing this.
I’ve had a few tacos, a Trd PRO 4R, 86’ Toyota truck(graduation present from HS, dumped into the weeds) and several tundras. None of which ever cut off the center beam just so I could run bigger tires. Why? Because I’ve seen at Pismo Beach and including myself having lawn darted my ride, yeah land nose first from sand dune jumps, worst thing was two front flats. Jump a truck or fj with a bracket lift your front folds on you and no more ride. Now I suppose if you’re going to be a pavement princess do the bracket lift. Your truck. My last truck an 07’ tundra on LT. 3” lift from Camburg, Bilstein 8100 suspension, FiberWerX glass’ fenders and bedsides. It was fun but also too big for most trails around the woods. Now back to a 23’ taco TRD Pro. Mainly so I can keep from losing my sponsors at Bilstein, Camburg, FiberWerX, BajaDesigns, Atlas Spring, and a few others.

When the 23’ gets here. I may do a build thread. So hang tight!

Appreciate all the invaluable replies as always. Gonna close out this thread and trade in the Tacoma for a Kia Soul.

I think Pontiac Aztec is much nicer. Can get OEM tent that goes in the back, can’t go wrong with that.
