I’ve had my light bar wired to the battery and grounded on the truck with a bolt. I’m trying to add fog lights with a second harness on top of the existing harness but when I go to connect the ground it’s sparking when I touch it it to ground. I’m not savvy with this so want to see if someone can help.

Both harnesses have relays. The second will basically go right on top of the first.

    what am I doing wrong?

Sparking means you're closing the circuit. Are you trying to control both with the same switch?

Also, you have to calculate your current demands and make sure you're using the correct gauge of wire and size of relay, because light bars pull a lot more DC current than fog lights do. I would recommend making each of those on separate circuits and wired individually. Also use quality connectors that are weatherproof and ideally run the wires through weather resistant sheathing.

I realized I had my 3 wires that I’m going to connect to my on off switch taped together from when I ran it through the cabin still.. is that the problem maybe?

I have two separate harnesses and switches I plan to use

You may want to consider upgrading your switch and relay system to something more robust and expandable.

What I've done is invested in the Auxbeam 8 switch system which features circuits of different amperages. For example, two circuits that support 30A, another two for 20A, then two for 10A, and finally two for 5A. This way you can space your lighting and accessories out safely. The nice thing about their system is that it features a digital relay so you won't have ratty relay blocks all over the place. This makes the install in your truck cab look professional and you only have to run a single wire through the firewall.

From the relay block you can make your own wiring and terminations and run to the lights accordingly. Guild makes a fantastic 3D printed switch holder that supports the Auxbeam controller and the Toyota OEM switches.
