    This.

We're just trying to push @Ozark_RegCab to do some real wheeling so he can see his truck won't just break suddenly :burp:

Apparently there are more places suited to adventure bikes around here than 4 wheels. I've never gotten into it but it's kinda tempting.

In 2021, Silverton CO let ATVs drive the streets just like cars. The noise was a problem for hotel guests. The smell of burned 2-cycle motor exhaust was a turn off for people trying to eat as sidewalk cafes.

Ouray didn't allow that. So in 2022, ATVs were banned.

That's aggravating. Hopefully the deeper mud holes at least have bypasses? I also heard they were gonna crack down more on SxSs out around Moab, maybe they will here too.

Hopefully the trails around Richland Creek haven't been affected.

ATV's and side by sides here are some of the worst; fortunately you won't find them on the streets or in many areas where people go wheeling.

But in some OHV's, they're allowed and they're definitely inconsiderate as hell on the trails.

I never got the appeal of those things. They're good for ranch work, but for running trails, why wouldn't you just get an old Cherokee or minitruck?

We had a convoy of them coming up behind us at Moab; we all have good trail etiquette and moved aside and let them pass.

It was the dirt bikers that were flying by that pissed one of our guys off. We ran into them awhile later and our friend hit the gas, kicking up dirt and dust everywhere for them.

He was just waiting for someone to get stupid before he stopped to say "let me get my mouth piece"

there are a couple rock thots on 37s-40s on 2nd/3rd gens and the CVs are the fuse. The diffs themselves are pretty beefy, surprisingly. Like any diff the gear install is critical lol

Most around Richland Creek are on some solid rock. But those are maintained county roads for the most part. Bypasses have been cut around the biggest mud holes. But without a built roadbed, it just moves the problem over a few feet.

On some trails they'll even look at you funny for driving a truck on "their" trails. IMO they're just buying into the auto industry's push to have everyone buying the latest $80,000 full size truck to tow their 30k dollar SxS out to the trails, instead of just having a compact 4x4 that does it all.

@Ozark_RegCab Jeeps from out of state come to drive in the illegal protected areas. Us locals park in a row on the road. We won't do that.

Is that out by Richland Creek? I go by the MVUM to see which roads are open to 4x4s.

It’s not all of them, and the 4x4 community has its bad apples too. But to me those SxSs are for grunt work. They’re an ear and eye-sore out in the trials IMO
