Oh, and one more. This one, I pushed every headlamp, flashlight, and phone screen into action to try and light up the ore chute and Tacoma under the night sky. I'd wished I'd had one more light, so as I made my way to adjust the ones I'd distributed, I wouldn't have been tripping over every rock in the wash, hahaha!

Such a cool photo, I really like how the warm tent lighting contrasts with the mine and sky. What were the camera settings you used to get this shot?

    Thanks both!

Anton - the warm/cool is totally a skill thing, if you can be skilled at getting lucky. ;)

Here were the settings. At 8s, I obviously used a tripod for the shot.

You can check out the entire trip report with a bit more in the way of locations in my build thread or (for a better reading experience) here: Not the Rock Art I Was Looking For (Jan 2023) Was a pretty awesome trip through a bit of NV, UT, and AZ.

I suppose I should add that I've got a few other trips to that neck of the woods as well, which you can find here: https://adventuretaco.com/index/state/

    Beautiful photos, as usual.

But, I gotta know, did you photoshop out all the dust? I've driven those roads with a couple of buddies and we needed at least a half mile spacing to be able to see ahead. ;)

    Thanks!

If you can tell me how to photoshop out dust, I'll be eternally grateful. Actually, I'd like to do it in real time while driving, hahaha.

Both of these shots were taken from pretty far away from the Tacoma in order to compress the background. In the time it took me to walk away - maybe 150 steps or so - the dust was able to disperse. I do find myself waiting for dust dispersal more often than I'd like though. A light breeze - in the ~5mph range, is really the best; not to windy to make things chilly or to lift a lot of haze into the air, but enough to move the dust away from the road.

Pic from end of January on our way home from Mammoth! Almost went up again about 2 or 3 weeks ago before it started snowing like crazy. 395 was closed so I didn't go but luckily I didn't all things considered.

@DetroitDarin how do you like that topper lift system? It keeps catching my eye.

Sorry, just saw your posts below that. Very cool setup!
