Hi I just bought a 2003 Tacoma 4x4 yesterday. I got it for a great great deal $5,500. I just drove it almost 300 miles today and hit a lot of traffic back to San Diego and was wondering if there are any better seats for this truck. These seats absolutely killed my back. For reference my tires size is 285/75/16. Fox shocks on front and icons on the back. Thank you

I had an 03 Prerunner, yes...not the most comfortable seats. I made a trip once from San Diego to UCSB to pick up my daughter from school and turned right around and drove back home. Man, my back and butt was sore by the time I got back home!!

I put corbeau seats in mine. Not cheap, but have a direct fit bracket for first gens. You could also try the seat jackers in the front and see how those work. DE448910-A2DF-47D0-8B23-3F599C2BF89C.jpg

Def go with seat jackers. Makes a world of difference. I'm 6'3 and it works great and makes long trips not only tolerable but enjoyable. Congrats on the new truck as well!

Another vote for seat jackers, made a world of difference for me. I just upgraded to seats from a 4Runner of the same vintage too; it takes some minor fab on the bracket but totally worth it!

Thanks. It’s just an auxbeam switch panel. Allows me to control exterior lights, compressor, etc., without running a bunch of wires through firewall.

How do you like the sport seats? Did you have back problems before or were stock just uncomfortable for you? Did you get the lumbar support feature fort? If so do you like that as well? Thank you

Also interested in woodardds feedback on these. I’m looking at those or the Moabs.

I don’t have back problems at all, and my factory seats were in good condition. I drove 3hrs with factory seats and for a guy that’s never had back problems my ass and back hurt like hell. I love the corbeau seats, and yes I have lumbar support and a heater on drivers side. I can put a solid 10 hrs in of driving with no issues at all. I Use my truck to archery hunt in western states, so long hauls are typical.

Thank you I appreciate the feedback. I’ll look into those seats more. How long have those seats been in your truck now and was it easy to wire up the seat warmer? Thanks again

No problem. I’ve had them a little less than a year now. Seat warmer was easy, came with a fuse tap in so just run wire under carpet and door trim up to fuse panel and plug in mainly. They got hot!!!

They are fantastic! I think they are specifically the “sport” seats, or something like that. Bigger, more supportive bolster that hugs you at the lower back and thighs, and adjustable lumbar and seat bottom angle on the drivers seat. One of the front mounting points can be hammered in to compliance easy enough; the back outer mount can either be modified, or I’ve heard of a bracket that someone on here makes or people just drilling a new hole. The 4Runner seats with the (4Runner specific) seat jackers makes it feel like a whole new truck.

Yeah....that is sketch as hell and I wouldn't trust that in an accident. That weld doesn't look supported and the metal is too thin to get an actual solid bead. Would seriously consider looking at another option than doing that setup. Just my opinion though.

Those seats aren't great by any stretch, but I don't feel like they are THAT bad. Maybe try a lumbar pillow and cover it all up with a nice seatcover.

Well when you have had major back injuries and herniated discs in your back they are.

I recently upgraded my 60/40 split bench (way uncomfortable) to Recaro buckets. Real nice and real expensive. Next time, if there is one, I will go with a lower priced option.
