Hello to you all ! I am looking forward to hearing all about the 4th gen tacoma once we actually start to see Toyota announce official specs etc. this will be my first Toyota and as well my first Tacoma. I’ve owned 2016 F150, 2021 Ram 1500, 2022 F350 Tremor recently and a host of other cars . It will be a long wait so I’m told but excited with my decision. Deposit was paid this morning at my local dealer. I’m going with a Tacoma Hybrid so may be waiting a while.

Hard to reserve a hybrid when Toyota hasn’t even announced any specifications for the 2024 Tacoma.

Welcome, but you basically gave the dealer money for an imaginary truck at this point, sure the signs point to a hybrid but price, when they actually show up to dealers (tundra hybrid versions didn’t show up till months after non hybrid) etc none of that has been released. Did you agree to a price? And there’s not even allocations yet. Said dealer gonna have a hybrid allocation that you actually want? This isn’t ford. You’re dealer will get what Toyota decides. Brave move my friend. But congrats.

    Welcome to TW!

A co-workers son works for a Toyota dealership in the Lower mainland and he said his son has already put a deposit down on a 2024 Tacoma along others. WTF? He's in Richmond. Are you in Penticton?

There's a lot that could happen between now and when 2024 production starts. Toyota could be no more, I doubt if that will happen. 2024 could still be the 3rd gen if the 4th gen gets delayed.

Why not keep the 350 Tremor, and pick up a Corolla GR?

I reserved a spot at my dealer to be at the front if and when it arrives. I am in no rush. I was actually second to do so at my local dealer here in Penticton BC

I can afford a small deposit and understand fully all of the above. If it doesn’t workout in a year that’s ok too I’ll get money back. I’ll likely know more in 6 months .

Lol. I could see doing this for maybe a Raptor R or a TRX but a Tacoma Hybrid that isn’t even announced? :boink:

It’s all relative to each and every person. We all see value differently.

How do you buy a vehicle that the manufacturer hasn’t even admitted exists yet?

You don’t buy it… you put a deposit down in hopes it’s made.

Same same. It’s still a deposit on a vehicle that doesn’t exist. It’s all speculation.
