They just left the space where the shifter would be, but the plastic is filled.

This was our second time going through, little better of a video as well.

So now this begins to make a little sense.

 

I installed a cheap android auto head unit today and sine my dash was apart I decided to change my climate control lights. I got a cheap two pack of #74 bulbs and as I was trying to force the left one in the base pushed through into the heat controls. Does any know how to disassemble the hvac or is there access to the light base without removing it?

 

It starts again

 

Going to have to remove the entire HVAC control module. A couple of philips screws and you can split the case. Be careful doing so, not much play in it's harness/wiring.

Ordered valve shims for $10 a piece, definitely more expensive than I expected.

I'm also an idiot and didn't think about valve clearance adjustment when I pulled the engine apart. Just removed the exhaust cams again after just installing them to check clearance. It's not worth using the Schley OEM style tool for removal if you're doing basically all the exhaust shims. Still decent progress for an afternoon/evening.

 

Thank you, thats what I was afraid of, my 98 has mechanical controls so it is quite different than the 01-04 in the video.

 

There were 15 on that one. One stayed behind to take the group picture. We had some high school kids (brothers) in the group driving the silver 100 with the orange traction board on top.

We asked them if their dad let them take his LC on the trip. The older on answered no that it was his and that he had always wanted one and he bought it with his money.

They live in a suburb of Denver. They could wheel the hell out of it on any trail.

I know nothing I say here (nor anyone) can change that unfortunately but will say a good number of people here would be willing to lend an ear if you need to vent.

Been through a lot myself, and I know many in here have as well.

A little town in Montana called Cooke City does the same thing, they're snowed in a lot of the year and there's no real cell service. But the town hall/visitor center has WiFi they share for everyone

 

Been watching some videos of the "Off Road Wrecker Games" that Matt/Matt's Off-Road Recover put together. It looks like a spectacular mess. They're milking the YouTube money machine for all its worth.

Probably was a good time to be there, though. Lots of interesting vehicles to look at, even outside of the main attractions.

 

We'll be moving in Sept and hopefully setting up the new shop in October
