That waterline is way too high, that truck should be crushed for everyone's safety.

At no price is this a good deal and worth all the hassle and head-aches in the future for anyone who purchases it.

The guy selling the truck has trouble judging fluid outside the truck. I don’t know if I trust him with the oil change and transmission fluid change. I vote No like most others, but do tell us his asking price.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Free would be too expensive for that truck.

Ha. My father bought my mom a brand new 1973 mercury marquis had it delivered deep into the night on Xmas Eve.
Big shiny brand new car in the driveway Xmas morning.

The next day he and his 'buddies' took off for a Florida fishing trip - and yep - parked it on the beach, tide came in and fked it up royally.
That Piece of Sh*t never was the same...

As the song goes:... ' Some people say that there's a Woman to Blame '..... and knowing my ole-man I don't doubt it a bit.

Friend of mine that's in the repo business bought a flooded new vw Jetta cheap. All it needed was a new computer. Last I knew it was still running 10 years later. Sometimes you get lucky.

IF you have space (a barn would be good), tools and time, IF your are capable of gutting all the electronics, fabbing up a v8 driveline, rewiring with something like a kit from Painless Wiring that makes it run, operate lighting, etc, AND the price is less than what the body parts are worth, it could an interesting project.

Never buy a 1st year new model vehicle that's been flooded. With the recent and continuing flooding in California and the abundance of Tacomas there. I'd wait for a better deal to come along if you really need a flooded Toyota. You should just buy a boat instead.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
    I'd rather start with this.

the only way i would consider it is if it were very cheap and i was buying it to tear down/rebuild to teach a class of those wanting to learn the automotive repair industry.

No, but we’re all dying to know!
OP, no one is going to bust your balls about it, we’re just curious as to whether or not the seller is a POS, a weasel or just an a$$hole, pending on the price of course.

As long as it works now, should be fine.

how many of you guys have off road your trucks in huge puddles or ponds? And everything is fine (unless you hydrolock your engine)

I’m betting this truck will be fine for years to come. Have couple friends who had flooded cars and they had them for 10 plus years. They just had their normal Maintenance items.

salt water is the one that messes up all the electronics.
