Is this the before or after picture??

Hard to tell being they are upside down just how they mount.

They should attach to the frame.

Finally got my air dryer completed time to disassemble and finish welding off the joints/paint. Then it's time to use it for plasma cutting. Way over kill

do y’all think the plate is strong enough to support the truck and not bend?

Just what are your plans . You can bend anything if you work hard enough.

Lots of high speed rock bashing where the slider takes the impact of the all the truck weight on a few square inches from a few feet in the air several times in 100'.

By all means add lots more to strengthen the sliders and the rest of the truck.

    Finally, some welds. Lol.

Making a bracket to mount a digital readout and speed control to my old mill.

These came out better than I would have expected with no practice/warmup but I’m curious why I get the little pointies in my stack (of not-dimes). Any pointers?

Looks like you're whipping your torch too fast; wirespeed can't keep up.

i guess the better question is 'how far are you willing to go?'

you could gusset all of the short plates extending out from the mounting plate to the rails, but then the question is if the mounting plate is thick-enough/bolted-through-enough/reinforced-enough to deal with the potential extra stress. if things are bending, that force has to go somewhere, and it's very unlikely reinforcing only a singular part of the design will be the result you're looking for.

Just lack of Arc time !

You need to find your rhythm right toe pause left toe pause front pause repeat .

The welder output determines the length of your pauses

In the olden days before the new remote output control changing settings could mean a long walk to the welder to adjust things so one learned to adjust your speed rather then output of the machine.

ha ha ha if only The truck might only have been only 30' away but most of that was straight down.

Then of course the stairs were 100 yards away .

It must have been good to get your dues paid !! Cold in the Summer nice and warm in the winter. Fume extractors for every booth .

Replacing the MIG180; nothing wrong with it, I'm just used to big boy welders

Power cable, ground cable, everything is beefy as hell

    Big boy torch

And best of all, I get to go back to 33lb spools

Anyone know where I can get Rex-Cut discs?

I have a Megabrite finishing flap disc, fine grit, which is now worn out. Great disc, but I can't find any retailers.

I've looked on their web site - they list the fine grit, but don't allow it to be purchased.

I wonder if they've stopped production or just have supply chain issues.

Good luck with your new machine!

    Keeping the little one?

Do the guns interchange ? I have always found it easier to swap guns when going from .023 to .045 rather then liners in the gun. Plus the other assorted parts.

Don't believe the guns interchange since the new machine is larger and pulls more current.

The rollers are interchangeable though and I can use the spoolgun from my smaller MIG180 with the new setup.

I'll be getting rid of it though since I already have a Miller that runs dual shield. That and I don't really have room for 3 welders, a plasma cutter, cnc table, and fab table all on one side of the garage

Since your selling the MIG180 I just wondered if the guns back ends were the same size.

No comment on your lack of space:anonymous: You would just use that space as well.
