I ran CAT5e when the walls were open here, 20 years ago. I still don't have speed issues related to the wiring. IMO the network cable specs are pretty conservative. One thing's for certain, I won't be ripping the walls open again! :)

Extenders are a compromise where you can’t run Ethernet. The main issue is that extenders share the same or steal a wifi channel from the router. They are also half duplex which means signals can only go one direction at a time. There is a lot of retry’s when sending IP packets because it has to wait for the channel to free up. Thats why it’s typically half speed or less. The type of connection to the router from the other access point (extender) is called a back haul. To get full speed you must hardwire the back haul using Ethernet. That may not be easy when you need wifi out in a garage 100 feet away. If you have the money look at a NETGEAR Orbi 6 or 6e (overkill). It uses a dedicated channel for the back haul. It will still struggle with going through metal based insulation, doors, and e glass via wifi. It will run full 1Gbit if you can put run Ethernet back haul. I did this outside in my covered patio.

    Evening all:

As usual, nice car pics Kurt, that 63 Galaxy is really nice, looks to be a 390 which was pretty common.

:( not looking good, now a major bank failure, maybe gonna be a bit of a rough ride coming up.

    What is #98?

The VW busses in original patina are so cool...

And the new Broncos are not impressive, at all. Has Ford ever made anything more bland?

Kurt: all the pics were nice. Enjoyed the GTO and the VW bus pics. Such a wide variety of cars and trucks.

    Good morning.

The extender installed really easy. Both Wi-Fi networks came up with no problems. The speed was what I expected, about 1/3 the speed as opposed to the router Wi-Fi. The MOCA backhaul worked pretty well. I could also use my ethernet connection, but I wanted to leave it dedicated to the ethernet switch in the room. I did achieve the desired results, now my Wi-Fi smart switch, controlled electrical outlets, are now working fine with no going in and out of service that was happening on a regular basis. I cannot recommend BN-Link products unless you have a strong W-Fi signal to the area they are installed.

Today is a birthday party for my sister. She is now 70 years old. The switch over yo daylight savings time was pretty hard this morning. Went to bed at 10:30 last night and woke up at 6:30, so 7 hours of sleep. Off to the gym then home to make breakfast for the family. I have been watching old James Bond movies, Sean Connery, for about 2 weeks now. Watched Diamonds are Forever last night. Bond movies always have such beautiful women in them. Jill St. John did not disappoint. Need to find Goldfinger to complete the Sean Connery watch list.

your Bond marathon watch must have left you all warm and fuzzy. My marathon, Showtime’s Waco, had a much different effect. Having lived through those days with eyes wide open, I expected more of a yawn than was delivered. I was physically shaking, with that hollow delicate stomach feeling for quite a while afterward. The blind horror of knowing where it would inevidently be going was as powerful as any personal drama could have been. I won’t soon forget this one.

Hard to tell. We need a shot from the back. The iconic rear end. One of Ford's best designs...

Pete Brock designed it for Shelby Racing. Nobody in the shop thought it would work and he ended up hacking the first one together with some plywood bucks and the help of a couple of crew members in their spare time. Shelby was one of the big doubters. Then they took it to Riverside where it hit 186MPH on its first outing! It went on to beat the Ferraris for the GT World Championship, in spite of Enzo cheating by having the last race canceled. Carroll Shelby then showed just how much he disliked the cars by refusing to pay to have them shipped back to the US. They very nearly got dumped in the Atlantic Ocean because nobody wanted to pay the enormous tax if they stayed in the UK. Eventually cooler heads prevailed and they were flown back to California, where they languished in a corner of the Shelby American shop for a while. Nowadays they bring 8 figures at auction. Go figure.

Remember the Olds powered Shelby Series 1? I've always wondered how they have weathered time. I've only seen one, and that was brand new on a showroom floor. Never saw one on the road.

Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Putz the car and garage clocks, and I think I'm getting started on pulling the Decked system out of the truck today. It's sold as of this coming Saturday.

Yes, #98 is a Shelby Daytona - more likely than not a replica; 1 because it's regularly raced! 2 there are a lot of battle scar welds you can't see. Here's some shots from last July. I have never got a shot of the complete car, because there is ALWAYS someone very close by.

Yes, indeed, the red custom was a 58 Fairlane. I will likely not find the FB post from the family - a kid just completed it - his first build. I caught it out my window on the way out.

FB organizers posted that there were an estimated 1600 cars in the "Show" areas. Of course, I am one of those, so..... Others posted up in the C&C FB page pics of cars I didn't even glimpse.

I've never seen one in person. It wasn't a real big seller.

Definitely a replica. There were 6 coupes originally, plus Pete Brock and a couple of his buddies put together some very faithfully reproduced "continuation" units. 20 or so I think. They're all small blocks. Here are some pics of one of the original 6, currently on display at Simeone Museum in Philly. Note the Halibrand mags, 15" I think. Also look at how much ground clearance the car has. Simeone cars are pretty cool because if at possible they preserve them as they were in period, rather than restore them. This car is definitely a preserved one.

I doubt anything with a less than 250 production run would be defined as a big seller.
