Wisconsin crew, I have been chatting with @Thatbassguy , our OP here about getting a page going for an upcoming trip I want to take to Arkansas. Seems I can open it up on the Midwest page, but I kinda want to go with folks I know a little better. So here is the plan as I now have it:

    Ozarks in Arkansas
    March 21-31 2024

I want to come down into the area via the northwest corner and the Buffalo river-so a blast down to Branson from Wisconsin. Current plan for me because I am way up north is to leave on the 21st after work and camp in Albert Lea MN. I can hook up with all of you southern WI people in Des Moines IA and we can shoot down to the Erbie area via Branson MO on Friday. That is it so far. I know a bit of this route as I did it last year, and I can find us some great camping as well as high adventure for the first day or two. I am wide open to suggestions and ideas.

I am in the process of reaching out to the TW Arkansas group as well as already touched base with the FB Arkansas Toyota Trucks group. to get some help with guiding us around.

If you are interested in this type of multi day, dispersed camping overland type adventure let me know here and I will add you to the page I create for this trip. Alot can happen between now and next March, so no worries one way or the other. I just wanted to get on it so those who might be interested can get time off etc.

Very interested! My plans are retirement 4/1 and heading to Big Bend MP for a few days, then, maybe Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Moab/Arches, ?. There are a couple of things I'm still checking on that may affect retirement day. Retiring a week or so early may just play out.

Coming from Branson you can take 160 over to 125 and head south to the Peel ferry. It's a free ferry that crosses Bull Shoals and puts you into prime Arkansas scenery territory. If things work out properly, I might be able to meet you all down there and join the crew for a few days. Will have to see how time off at work goes.

Wow! I’ve missed a lot, been rather busy at work. I understand living in Wisconsin too but I’m over this snow every other day crap. I just want my Tacoma clean for more than 24 hours.

Last, but not least I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to have my Tacoma. I love this truck, it’s the best vehicle I have owned but with my commute and almost 19,000 miles a year I am thinking I need something more efficient. Really been eyeing up a Camry XSE hybrid. 40 mpg seems super attractive these days.

This group, on this thread is cool though. I like all the fellow Tacoma Wisconsinites!

    40 mpg?

Don't be fooled by the literature... Those cars easily get 50.

If you do go that route, definitely stay tuned into the group. But the better route would be... Keep the taco. And then get the car for the commuter. :spending:
