This is a wild ass opinion, but if one is blown, the other three might not be far off. They are a wear item. 45k miles is an awfully short life for a shock, but it's not unheard of. The issue with the OR stock shock is that it is a small diameter tube that allows a lot of travel from "soft dampening" (relatively ), and it has a bit of a reputation for overheating on washboard.

... I'd bite the bullet and swap all four for something a little more stout. But that's me. I'm also the type that replaces all turn signal bulbs when one burns.

I guess I'm wrong, but I did replace the "yellows" with 5100s and I like them better.

I prefer the feel of 5100s over the stock shocks in all cases. I felt they improved everything on road and off road, every small hits and dips.

AAL's are not ideal with any kind of worn spring, even a couple of years. They install fine, but they try to re-arch the existing spring, so they take most of the load, and eventually arch themselves and wear faster.

I would skip AAL in your case, I like them but it's a waste to do it now. Unless you have a good arch and the axle isn't close to bump stop. Unlikely considering toppers cause tacoma springs to wear quicker.

5100's are designed for 0-1" rear lift, thats why they are perfect for your scenario, lift or no lift they will work.

If you do go AAL. You can get the icon progressive set, but remove the overload, this will provide lift, but by removing overload it lowers the truck down a tad.

OP, here’s my two cents based on your expressed desire at the present time:

    1. As mentioned already, find a good set of OEM takeoffs.
    2. Install them yourself - rear shocks are laughably easy.
    3. Option: install a helper like Sumo Springs to offer more support when needed. No lift and also easy to install.

If I read correctly, you don’t seem interested in more than that at this time.

Good luck with whatever you do.
