Im surprised the front wheels on the tow truck are not raised off the ground.

 

When we used to put a snowplow on a Brat at the dealership I worked for back then, it was the rear wheels of the Brat that had trouble staying connected to earth. We'd chuck stuff in the bed; being a dealer we had engine blocks etc. so it wasn't hard to get them reattached to terra firma.

 

Used to have a couple of Brats. Fun little cars/pickups.

 

This guy I managed a short conversation with. My first comment was that it was shortened, chopped by 2’. Yep, it’s on a Tahoe chassis and shortened. A small block 400 motor that sounded very healthy. It’s a 1965 El Camino and he bought it already built about a year ago. Says it was built right, from a short glance I’d agree. He’s local to me so I suspect I’ll get better chance to check it out this summer.

 

I thought this must be overseas because the driver was on the wrong side of the car and the cars were on the wrong side of the road... and then I saw the second pic.

It’s bad ass for sure. I’ve seen so many El Caminos built on 4x4 platforms and none were this cool. There’s a 1969 SS 396 El Camino running around my area done up 4x4 style. It’s the shortening / chopped thing on this one that makes it for me. Plus a buddy in high school bought 1966 El Camino 327 4/speed in this exact color. That was back in 1980. I knew what he had, he didn’t and beat the crap out of it.

 

1969 Opal GT ^. I test drove one of those years ago. Way too cramped in the foot area with the pedals but a fun little car.

 

Cool looking little cars (mini-vettes) but they sure died out quick. Opels were not known for longevity.

 

Ohhhh MAN! I would LOVE to drive that into a car show. I hope it has some kind of realistic drive train so it can actually be driven economically.

I love it when the weather breaks free of the winter grip and nice rides start hitting the streets.
