Good question, but that's going to be a tough one without being able to compare an older and newer set side-by-side. Maybe a call or email? Or maybe @CaliRaisedLed can confirm?

    Indeed!

I asked @CaliRaisedLed in post #679 back on 3/3 if there was a design change/improvement.. heard nothing. Think OP has left the building.

Was going to install mine today but it is raining and I don't wanna fool with it. Maybe later this week.

Decided to go with Miller CAT after reading all the postings (delivery delays, rattles, fit) and spend the extra money.
even called Cali Raised, I was an hour away from their store in FT Worth, and they had 4x2 in stock, BUT they even sounded overwhelmed on the phone
So I went with a proven product instead of a maybe.
Picked the aluminum version and used the 5% discount code……..install has a few “interesting” moments…

I just got mine like last week or so and it was the old design. The new design should be much easier to install. I think youll have to see what you get.

    Sure you aren’t comparing 2WD vs 4WD?

Im assuming this is the new design for 4wd. Poster says they have a TRD Pro, does that come in 2wd?

At any rate, I see no need to go over the cross member to mount it, like mine does. It only saves someone from pulling the crossmember bolts out. This other design can go around the bolts so you dont need to pull them out. Had to make it idiot proof.

    @Redtaco#21 has a 2wd

From everything I'm still seeing on the Gram and Youtube, the 4wd version still goes over the cross member.

You don't need to pull the bolts out for the ones that go over the cross member.

Yeah I know I put it on. What Im saying is I dont see why you need to go over the cross member on the 4wd version. If you made it mount to the front side it would be much easier to install, except that you would have to pull the bolts out to mount it. But I can see on this other version they have cut out the bolt holes so you dont even have to do that, just hook it onto the bolts.

It might be for skid plate compatibility or some other design issue between the 2wd and 4wd.

Received mine after roughly 6 weeks. Before I installed I added some foam tape because I was afraid of rattles toward the front where they use the rubber spacer, I also added it where it would make contact with other metal parts. The install was easy but noticed like others the drivers side touches the cat. I did hear a slight rattle so I added washers but it made it worse.. truck is 2020 TRD OR, tomorrow I’ll have to call and see what can be done. Just by looking at it I feel they didn’t bend enough to compensate for the Cat.

Great feedback. Ours are supposed to be here this Wednesday. We have the same exact truck so I'll look forward to hearing about what they say or if they have any suggestions.

    TIA!

Just installed mine today on my '21 Off-Road. did the passenger side first and it was a breeze. The driver's side did take some elbow grease and it does touch the cat after installed. I noticed a little more noise in the cabin; likely on account of those exhaust vibrations are now in contact with the rest of the truck. It's not horrible and mostly noticeable only while at idle. I like that these are there, though. It is some peace of mind.

Haven't installed mine yet, but that has been my thought... that they didn't bend it or contour it enough to clear the cat. Apparently the truck they tested it on didn't rattle, but there are too many at this point that do. Was hoping that they did a redesign and made it protrude a bit more to clear it. Hearing that extra washers made your worse is not good news!

I'm looking forward to hearing what you hear back from @CaliRaisedLed, since it seems they don't monitor this thread anymore.

It could very well be I didn’t use enough washers. But the fact we are all having to do something is a bit frustrating.

This is a stupid question, and I'm sure you did.. but, you put the extra washers in between the frame and the shield? So, layering would be: frame, SS spacer washer, cat shield, bracer , security bolt washer, security bolt?

I'm with you on being a bit frustrated that everyone is having to modify it in some way to keep from having the "rattle" issue.
