miguels mexican on 8th and hwy 24 is good tex mex. theres another location a bit south on 115 and cheyenne mountain blvd. both are good.

pueblo viejo on powers between stetson hills and dublin is great also.

theres a lot of smaller drive through places scattered around that are decent; taco star, taco express, monicas, etc. they all look like money laundering fronts, but the food isn't bad

 

at the dealership currently getting oil changed and diff fluids... Thought id ask about the third brake light recall which ive been waiting to get for two years. He told me it would be minimum six more months and they would charge my $400 to take the GFC off and on. obviously not going to let them touch that. Its also pretty sad, theres maybe 20 cars on their lot for sale

 

The third brake light Campaign is good through 2025 and Pueblo Toyota will not touch my truck with the shell on it to do the Campaign service. Yeah, there are dealers that will change to remove the shell and there are dealers that will do the service with a shell that has the flip down front window.

 

im just going to ask them to give me the parts and replace my head liner since in the two years ive been asking for it, my headliner is shot

 

You didn't buy a replacement housing, did you? I've seen people cut the tube off an old housing to make one.


Otherwise I think the ebay tool is only like $100 if you completely strike out.

 

I did, have the donor to cut up if needed, the tool I saw was like $200. Found a good shop that can do both for $200, might just have them do it to save the time, which I am currently short on.

Building up an entirely new axle, my housing was bent and cracked, splines on the shaft were a bit twisted, and to top it all off, my ring gear bolts had backed out and were barely hand tight nuking the gear, locker and bearings from them shrapnel

Probably should have bitten the bullet and gone for a fabbed housing, but I figured this all out in piecemeal so already had various pieces coming in and couldn't just abort the whole project . . . oh well.

 

If the headliner is shot due to the light leaking, you may have a ton of mold inside and other fabrics are damaged.

@Bholm - I've been pleased with the X2 from Batteries Plus. Note: I do have a tune to account for the AGM and the taco is basically stock.

 

Batteries plus usually have sales on the 2xpower AGM battery! just be on the look out! about $50-$100 off

 

Loc-tite on the threads of the ring gear bolts fail? I've never heard of that but anything is possible.

I don't have a rear axle press tool that work on a 4th gen 4runner. I've been trying to get a core axle to cut up and make 2 press tools (side specific). I tried the Amazon one and broke it the 2nd time in. Might have to bite the bullet and order the Toyota setup. We don't really do enough of that work to be worth the expense though.

 

Don't know, it was fucked though. Just glad I planned to replace the housing and found the issue with the diff, the last time I drove the truck was out in Moab last fall beating on it, glad nothing gave out there or on the drive home!

I have a housing and set of axles you can have if you want to make a setup.

How bad do you abuse it? I have been pretty lucky with the top tier Walmart batteries in gassers, even with winching off them and letting them drain dead a couple times. They have charged back and keep going. I have ones that are 3 and 7+ years old still running.

I am also super happy with the Odyssey AGM extremes in my diesel, they're 3+ years old and the truck still cranks up quick when it's 0 degrees out. Big ouch though, not looking forward to replacing them.
