A wheel spacer goes on the rotor/wheel hub.

So I’m already running 1.25” spider trax wheel spacers with skinny 255/80/17 Toyo OC AT3 Would that allow me to be able to install these wheels with no issue?

If your wheel spacer has a flat surface, there will be no interference. If your spacer has the lip(?) then it may or may not interfere with the inner bore the the rims.

It has the lip. It’s hub centric. Is there a specific spacer that you know of that will work? I’m assuming lug centric will definitely work

I just picked up a set of PTR56-89210-F2 rims for my 2023 OR 4x4 DCLB.

Prior to confirming with a local Toyota parts department that they'll fit, I found it tough navigating all the postings in order know whether they would have any issues, since its going from 16" to 17", and I'm not intending to do a lift or other mods to handle things.

Also verified the max tires sizes I can take on with these, without needing a 2" lift, because I want keep to factory spec right now, this machine is serving me well without suspension/clearance related mods.

For those in the SoCal area, I ordered these online at Norm Reeves Toyota, San Diego and got the set + TRD caps for $711.75. If you call or walk in and order them from the parts department it will be $1350. Such a ridiculous markup.

I'm now waiting on a set of BFG AT TA KO2 LT265/70R17 tires to arrive to get them fully installed.

Will post if I run into issues.

I think those have hub fit issues. :boink:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...el-not-compatible-with-3rd-gen-tacoma.739611/

FSW used to sell sets of those in 17x8.5 with various offsets, but they're no longer showing on the website.

Good to know. I originally checked this with Carlsbad Toyota before ordering, and have the orignal quote paperwork from them.

I then placed this with Norm Reeves Toyota due to their super deal, and when picking them up their parts guy also confirmed. If after all that, if they are an issue I'll go after Carlsbad Toyota to make it right.

So the issue was this. The third GEN Tacoma has rear drum brakes. The forerunner has disc brakes. Toyota uses a wheel that’s called hubcentric. The hub flange on the rear of the forerunner is smaller than the hub flange on the rear of the Tacoma axle shaft.

The true forerunner pro wheels will not seat fully due to the smaller inner diameter

Just got my replicas that should fit without issue from AGP. I love the wheels, my only problem right now is that I only got 3 of the 4 wheels I bought delivered Friday, however the last should be delivered today.

The PTR56-89210-F2 rims fit, no issues observed. Check the pics below.

Prior to the install today I did some final calling around for additional recon, here's what I got:

Carlsbad Toyota - they said the rear hub fits more tightly on Tacoma with these rims, and the mechanics have to really work to get them off sometimes. Then the guy said they recommend 10mm spacers. In my mind I thought "WTF, your fellow tech 4 weeks ago said they were fully compatible, no issue".

Off Road Warehouse (San Diego) – call took less than 30 seconds, they said they install these all the time on 3rd Gen, I'll have no issues.

Off Road Warehouse was on the money. Had these installed by Costco, since that’s who I ordered the tires from. And Costco are sticklers for things being correct - had to waive their usual warranty, since it wasn't the 16” factory OEM. The tech confirmed they were a good fit.

Just got my agp wheels installed today, love them. They are the 21+ pro replicas but without the interference issue, and they stick out just a little further for a better stance.
