I did that too. Didnt feel like removing the grill. Got a few cuts on my hands but I had the help of my wife to hold the screw in front.

Your experience adds new meaning to the saying "Buy once, cry once."

All kidding aside, I don't think most owners realize that pulling off the stock bracket with just threaded screws could be rather easy. Not that stealing a front plate is all that common of a problem. But at least with this set-up a thief is likely move on to an easier vehicle once they see the hex screw head.

 

Luckily for me, the dealer didn't install the front OEM bracket, so I only had to drill two tiny holes for your flush mount!

 

Received mine in the mail today. Looks good, I will install it later this week and snap a picture. Thanks!
