I put on a new seat cover because it’ll have better grip as well as looks better. What a massive pain in the dick. For those unaware, the covers are held on by about 100(?) staples so I had to pry out all the old staples and then staple on the new one.

In theory it’s not so bad but I tried so hard to get all of the wrinkles out of the new one and I just couldn’t do it, no matter how hard I tried. Very frustrating.

For those with a keen eye you can see attempt 1 (dewalt manual stapler) and then attempt 2 with the 8:30pm run to Home Depot for a pneumatic stapler.

No, I should have though. When I showed my wife the pictures she asked if I was going to blast them on youtube or not

I'll probably do 2 videos when I replace everything. 1 of the lower oil pan stuff and 1 of the clutch replacement. Clutches on these are super easy, luckily.

Edit: weirdly enough my second or third highest video, views-wise, is of an F800GS coolant change, so there's definitely views to be had. That video is sitting at 11k+ views.

Bought the same stapler when I did the Grom seat. Worth it!

Pneumatic staplers are the bee's knees. I bought a cheapo $20 harbor freight one when I did my heated seat (the first time..) and oh my god what a game changer. Then used it after for Christmas lights and the big brain fireworks went off

I quickly found out that it wasn’t going to be possible with the manual stapler, after I had already removed all the factory staples. At least on my seat, I needed the extended reach tip on the pneumatic one. It is super convenient though and now I’m walking around the house looking for things to staple. Maybe I’ll add one to the home office.

Ah, I didn't mean for blasting purposes, but more of the shock on your face. People love to see a tragedy unfold. Bunch of degenerate bastar.... ooooh a train wreck?:popcorn::popcorn:

Was a decent weather day so took the ZX10 out for another heat cycle ride. It’s about a 7mile loop I ride that has hills and turns so I can very load and speed. Also can scrub the tires in too. I will do one more heat cycle run tomorrow then drain the oil and change the filter. I will be adding break in oil again but want to get the first 50 miles of oil out. Just the way I like to break in a new engine. Will do another oil change at around 5-600 miles with the oil that I will be running for the rest of its life.
Then took out the R3 and holy crap it felt super slow at first. Took a few miles to get used to it but then it was super fun. I can really feel the difference from after the dyno tune. Pulls so much better throughout the whole RPM range.

Nope, it came with rekluse's own clutch discs. You re-use 1 BMW stock disc at the very start and that's it, or at least you used to, looks like rekluse does all it's own discs now. The very first and very last one in the stock BMW pack have a different tab on the outsides.

Edit: I glazed over my OEM clutch on a steep sandy hill before I put in the Rekluse, so going back to that isn't an option, unfortunately.

I finally rode the damn thing today after two weeks of ownership. It’s been about 12 years since I’ve been on a dirt bike and I’ve never done any tight, wooded, muddy trails before. I’m pretty proud of myself for getting back into the groove after about 10 minutes of seat time and I was whipping this thing around with no problems. Only laid it down twice when the mud got the better of me.

@EatSleepTacos small piece of preventive maintenance because it happened to me, the oem kickstand you have is the same that i had on my ktm

that spring is held on by one very small bolt that is notorious for coming loose and launching the spring, if not just shearing off completely, its recommended you pull it out and throw some loctite on it before reinstalling

not the bolt that holds the kickstand to the frame that one is robust, but the little tiny one that holds the spring to the kickstand itself

So, when it comes to bike accessories, like crashbars and skid plates, are there any good times to score deals? Is it the usual holiday/black friday sales that other things flow with?
