Well it’s confirmed. I have a ruptured plantar fascia on my left foot. In a boot. MRI in a month to see if we can figure out why. This is an uncommon injury even more so with no preexisting conditions. No surgery option. 6-10 month recovery. Boot and scooter will be my daily mode of transportation. Stay Well…Stay Safe.

Good morning. Currently a mixed bag of rain, sleet, snow. Allegedly changing over to all snow later. The drive in to work should be fun.

@Pointeman - take care of the foot.

Good morning. It's 30 degrees with some brisk winds here. We got about an inch of snow, more than we have had since January. Old Man Winter just can't let go.

Morning all! I just realized I missed whole sections of discussions on here just in the past few weeks! I'm surprised because I thought I was staying on top of things during the week. Anyway, it's gonna an interesting day.
I have a new hire who just graduated from Penn State....and I'm thinking of firing her already.
Background: She was hired full time on Feb 6th, light load of work to acclimate her (easy telework with high salary and best benefits in the region). I told her the primary goal for her was to get her company id and computer. I went to bat for her and got her setup with everything; however, she keeps forgetting her timesheet, requesting leave through me, advising me of her daily status, etc.. To the point where I had to counsel her already, and even pull out of her that she was going to be in Florida last week (I am in Wash DC essentially). I ask why is she going there just out of curiosity and it's for Spring break. But, you just graduated and you were on literally 21 days of vacation and you haven't received the computer yet to get to work! She already purchased tickets to go to FL. So, I was backed into the leave (it's unlimited leave btw). Then her computer comes in and we get the notice. She's not here! She'll get back next week...6 days from now. And on top of all that she won't return my emails, texts, etc..
So, I'm done. Termination....there, I worked it out just like that!

Thanks Marty. Apparently it will knit itself back together but the doc wants me to be non weight bearing for a minimum of 4 weeks. Then the MRI. Then another month of non weight bearing. Then PT if it’s healing to gradually increase my mobility over the next 4-6 months. The scooter at least allows me to get up and move around.
