Good choice my friend, I'm 13 Tacomas in, all gens and configs. Usually I'm not a basher of any gen or afraid to early adopt (had 16 and 17 with all the issues), my 2022 has been great and honestly probably the last true Toyota truck. After being active on the Tundra forum, FB group, etc. and seeing all the QC issues with that truck and just the build quality, I'll be waiting a bit before jumping into a 4th gen.

I assume this was the sales manager who accepted the deposit.

Hmm. Idk if I could ever buy the first year of a new Gen the first year it comes out. The tundra the same. Lots of issues that haven’t been figured out before first sales. I get it’s all under warranty but again I don’t want to be Guinea pig. I mean for example you’re out in the middle of no where trekking and something breaks.. you’re sol. The new turbos aren’t holding up.

This ^ I was excited about new Tundra when it dropped (even despite some ugly design aspects), been in the FB groups and forum for awhile and man all the issues with that truck has me really concerned with the 4th gen. And these aren't the same small issues the 3rd gen was plagued with, I mean leaking panoramic roofs, engine failures, wastegate issues, cracking seat pieces, rusting roof bolt holes, trim pieces missing, side mirror covers popping off randomly, and so much more. I'm a Toyota fanboy but man some of the denial in those groups, assuming when you spend $60k+ and the build quality is similar to a GM product you need to convince yourself its still a good buy somehow.

The issue with NA market Toyota trucks is they are engineered to compete, and benchmarked against domestic trucks. What you get is a NA truck built by Toyota.

Not that one, I'll have to check it out, someday maybe I'll get into a Tundra.
