I'm going to have to ask my last remaining uncle about this. I don't remember anyone ever mentioning this when I was growing up.

I think it's not a super well known dish, it's kind of a meme "Once the Italians start to relax about pineapple on pizza, we'll let them know about strawberries on spaghetti". So I've always made fun of it, but hey, now I gotta put my money where my mouth is. Problem is, I don't know if it's meant to be a dessert or a main....I still can't figure that out.

Interesting, I've seen prune but never raisin...makes sense though. My brother still has our 1950's style metal top painted (or enameled I'd guess) family kitchen table in his basement. It's perfect for rolling and cutting pierog dough. Steel surface and a little flour...non-stick.

    Bingo

We also have an endless supply of Russian borscht in town and it is great. I helped my neighbor with some chores around her yard and she gave me a quart of her borscht. Died and gone to heaven.

This is the dish I shopped for… mixed mushrooms, sprouts, bamboo shoots, shrimp in a sauce that is essentially black sesame oil, soy sauce and vegan hoysin with corn starch to thicken.

Next time, cook less (time) and with less liquid. I want more crispness in the veggies and more minimalist sauce. I know my use of the cover set me back as did not drying my ingredients better after prepping. Next time….

I've taught my girlfriend well! Pan roasted herb/lemon salmon, medley potatoes mash and topped arugula/spinach. 10/10
