How much trimming did you do so the tires don’t rub? :cookiemonster:

I've been wondering. Did you mask and spray or brush it on? Looks difficult with it in place.

Masked everything and sprayed. I’m not sure there is an easy way of doing it. Definitely sucked lol

I figured! I'd be half tempted to paint the top before lifting it up into place and welding the bottom solid.

I did paint the top before lifting it in place. Just didn’t come very far down as there was still lots to be added at the time

Seems like my head was in the right place then. We'll see what I do in the next 15-20 years. I may just buy a wrecked truck and build it out and keep this one relatively stock. Or I might get a commuter car and rig this thing out. It's a lot of money I ain't got, and unless I can manage to move up here the annual raises are doing jack to keep me above the inflation. We went from doing really good, with extra cash, to being strapped. No fun money, which is fine since I had some projects that needed done. Finally welded up my skids and sliders are up next on the welding table.

Kind of a cool little thing I did tonight. Ever since going to a twin stick I’ve been looking at this useless switch telling myself I needed to buy a blank for it.

But on my hunt for a voltmeter I stumbled on the Blue Sea mini. And you could say it fits pretty much perfect in the gutted switch housing.

    It’s been a while!

We have ourselves a roller with full driveline at this point.

Currently working on electrical, did all of my main power runs today and plan to have all other wiring finished by the end of next week. At that point it should be a running truck!

For the main power runs it consists of
4awg from battery to engine bay fuse box
    2awg from battery to starter
    4/0 from battery to alternator
4/0 from battery to buss bar which will feed my winch and fan.

4/0 may seem on the crazy side, but a winch pulls a whole lot of amperage so I want things to be proper.

All wire is from battery cables USA and it is all the “extreme”. Very high quality wire, but it does come at a cost.

Sound deadening is dual layered. Base being 80mil killmat with 200 mil siless pro which is 50mil butyl and 150mil closed cell foam. I can already tell the cab is going to be on the quiet side!

    Enjoy the pictures!

Man when I caged my old Tacoma front to back, it really simplified things I feel. That sheet metal is good for a stock truck but once you go big, it becomes more work to modify the sheet metal to fit tires than cut it all off and add a bunch of tube. Good shit!

It simplifies and complicates at the same time. The engine cage definitely added the most complexity because of how much has to be moved around and relocated to work. But on the plus side, there will be absolutely no rub anywhere.

Not far off from a running, driving truck.

Yesterday was first start up. Today was dash install.

I am so stoked on how this thing is coming together!
