Yeah, i definitely wouldn't recommend a blind hole puller to anyone. I could do it clean with one now that i know to use a pipe instead of the included legs. But the ecgs puller is just a better option

Any shops in the northeast that do this install?

Is the issue with blind pullers that the “legs” don’t extend far enough outside of the hole and are only pulling on essentially the inner liner component for lack of a better term? What we would call an inner race if it was a standard bearing?

The one i used the legs were just not stable. The ecgs puller is small and rest solid on the diff housing. When i used the pipe the puller was resting solid against pipe which was solid against the diff housing like the ecgs puller does.
The legs just kept shifting not allowing the puller to seat solid against the back of the needle bearing. Once i used the pipe the entire puller was seated against the back of the bearing and pulled out evenly. Like the ecgs puller would.

I gotcha. Yeah the legs on most of the pullers that style don’t look very stable so I could see how it’d be difficult. As opposed to a flat piece of metal flush against the whole end surface of the bearing.
