Only time will tell. It’s not all that far off from a crate LS3 as is. And if guys keep pushing it, I’ll bet ford broadens what is powered by it.

Edit: After looking a dressed LS3 from GM performance is actually 900$ more than the dressed Godzilla.

    That’s odd
You’d think the LS3 would be way less since it’s OLD
    But
I guess you win this round

It's a cool platform to be sure, but it's still new to market and hopefully all the kinks will be out of it in a few years. I highly doubt we'll see anything like that in a midsize, at least on the North American market. 2024 is slated to be Turbo I4, haven't even heard rumors of a V6 option. At least they finally ditched leaf springs.

I don't think you'd be leaf sprung with 20k to play with. On a budget, yes, leaf springs work.

That’s what I’m saying. Give me $20k and let me prove myself wrong. I’ll be the first to admit it and give you a solid gentleman’s handshake in return

But what does that have to do with the 2024 using a 5-link system instead of leafs? Here’s hoping they don’t charge 20k more msrp on the next gen…

Other than that, I think we well established a few pages ago that linking a leaf sprung truck is expensive.

The 5-link on my Tundra definitely rides nice. The only problem is when I put a Tundra sized load on, it squats way more than an equivalent leaf setup I find. That and the body roll is worse with a tall load like a camper.

I will say the same with my ram. Granted ram runs heavier springs vs the tundra but the sway is way worse with tall loads vs the 3500.

    Interesting

I’ve been windowshopping a enclosed car hauler for moving my taco across the country and wondered how my Silverado would handle the job

I wonder if you can add air bags after the fact to the tundra? Since it’s linked I don’t guess a generic one would work. I have an aftermarket system on the Ferd you can fill from an app. Hooked up an extra VIAIR I had so I can fill tires with it.

Noticed this from my last trip in Baja. I noticed the pads whine in Baja and quickly zip tied them. I assume there was separation and they came out. Today I noticed the parts on the leaves are bent. Likely from movement. will limit straps help here? they were supposed to be added last time but they forgot.

This post just reminded me I need to get new pads. I have 5 MIA on my brand new springs, after one summer of use. No idea what the deal is.

I completely removed the pads when I rebuilt my springs. No worry about losing them now.

They make bags that go directly inside of the coil spring. Installed TONS of them on dodges. Factory air suspension is terrible in these parts with the hell salt raises, and gets insanely expensive to fix. Air ride brand stuff is cheap and easy to replace. With the OE stuff 9/10 times we ended up doing a full delete because it was so pricey to fix.

You’ll be pretty shocked when you see how fast leafs start cutting into the bottoms of others. I wouldn’t really suggest doing that.

Except deaver recommends leaving them out? But yeah you can’t just drop them and call it a day. You bevel the edges so your scenario doesn’t happen.
