I have worked with an insurance provider long ago when my first wife was in a wreck & her car was totalled. We were able to get full retail value. A co-worker recently hit a deer & his Cadillac was totaled. His insurance company gave him full retail plus 10%.

I'm going to go after the other guys insurance provider. If I use mine to get it fixed, I will have to pay a $1000 deductible. My insurer told me if I didn't want to pay the thousand, to go through his carrier directly. Also if mine gets fixed I would need a rental car & his carrier would have to pay for it.

I'm thinking of going to the doctor in the morning. I'm starting to feel some pain between my shoulder blades.

Take care of any back issues sooner than later. I've had my c6-c7 disc replaced and L3-L5 discs blown out of whack twice now. Therapy can help reduce issues.

    Good luck and God Bless!!

Vicodin and cyclobenzaprines were my friend for a month or two of recovery after surgery. Now I keep a few on hand for the headaches I get since the surgery!!

    I'm glad you're okay man.

Just another testament as to how tough Tacoma's really are :)

In all reality though, he probably realized he was driving an old Chevy POS and was trying to off himself...

You shoulda told him to try the bridge

Went to the chiropractor for 2 days & now I'm pain free. I had just some minor pains from the impact. A muscle relaxer the day after the accident also & I am as good as new.

Took my truck by Toyota Collision yesterday. $3400+ to fix it. The guy said the Tacoma bed sits on rubber posts and has some movement. This is so when in a rear end crash there isn't as much damage to the vehicle. The bumper takes most of the damage. They will have to remove the bed & re-position it. Also I will get a new bumper, tailgate, tow hitch, along with a big list of other misc items. Right quarter panel will be repainted. It will take 5 days to do the repair.

I was going to the lake this weekend, I asked the guy if it was safe to tow. He said if it was him, not too. The damage is severe to the tow bar. So we will have to go play disc golf instead of fishing.

A friend of mine drives a 1st gen. Tundra has a couple of trailers he pulls regularly. He was hit in the side, truck was not driveable in his case. Point of this story is that the insurance co. would only pay for a compact car for rental. (I think he wound up driving a Focus ) But he argued he needed a truck to pull his trailers. Long story short, they told him he was sh*t out of luck and on his own. It's crying shame that because of someone elses stupidity that you have to be at such an for inconvenience! I would be pissed. Sorry to hear that, Especially with such a pretty weekend.

On a side note, I pay extra for rental reimbursement on my policy. I think its only something like $5 extra for 6 months, figure it will be worth it if ever needed. Bumps rental up from $30 to $40 per day.
