I'll have to try that method next time. Usually I do chain maintenance on weekends, typically before any rides. Oops

You can also leave the can of wax in the sun for a bit before you apply it. Seems to work well in my experience.

One of the reasons I bought a super tenere.... no chain. Tho like stated if i was doing LOOONG distance riding and tons of it an "auto" oiler would probably be on the bike.

Oh I would 100% prefer a shaft driven option, but in the $8k OTD budget range and for a new rider, I don't know of any. Not if you need to be able to handle crappy roads, dirt, gravel, washboards, etc. at least.

Shaft drive is nice but it’s not hard to care for a chain once in a while. Chain drive also let’s you make easy gearing changes to adjust the bike for different situations.

Aah, well that sounds like a terrible outcome for your buddy. I'll be getting a 2022 Honda CB500X.

I swapped to this after my last can of maxima ran out, I really like it. Goes on and sets up super nicely.

That's gonna be a bitching bike! contemplated one a few times as a replacement for the Grom and more useable than my bigger bikes as an around town and commuter bike that would be comfy, fun, have plenty of power for just about everything on the day to day n a nimble ride. And dem Mpgs

That's the goal. It just seems like the best all rounder bike. The only place it falls short are in the extremes, and as a new rider I want nothing to do with any of the extremes.

Huh. I never thought to question it, but here's a counter to the 5 year helmet "rule" that was talked about previously.

Absolutely. I've bought several items from them over the past few years. I think they got their start dealing it lightly used gear and returns from other warehouses and gradually grew. Everything I've bought has been brand new gear with the tags still on and full warranty paperwork included. I think a lot of what they deal in now is buying out last years models or discontinued stuff right from the manufacturer, taking everything then blowing it out in volume. The Klim Gore Tex jacket I bought is a 2019 model and I just got it at the end of 2022. So what if it's 3 years old? When that jacket came out it was over $950 and I got it at under $500.

Good deal. They actually have the mesh jacket I want, so if it's still in stock when I get my bike I will definitely check it out! Thanks for the hook up.

Not sure how you go about getting on their mailing list but I get emails from them almost daily with new arrivals, items being reduced to finish blowing out remaining inventory, etc. Look into getting on their mailing list and be prepared to pull the trigger when you see something you want.

    Glad to be of help!

Went and had the ecu flashed in the ZX10R yesterday @ 2wheeldynoworks. HOLY F I put it in sport mode for the first time. This bike is f-ing nuts. It’s back in rain mode for now. Just need more seat time to get used to the power.
Rain mode is 70% power with traction control on. It’s still fast as F in rain mode. Crazy fun though.

Buy one of the Klim Induction jackets on there, by far the best mesh jacket I’ve worn over the years. Keep a lightweight wind/rain layer to throw over it and you have a jacket that works from late spring into fall in all conditions.

New clutch cover, looks way better imo. I’m finally slowing down with the mods to this thing (as the money from my truck sale is running out)

You might have added more mods than miles (or hours)
