Saw someone post about getting the cam bolts and tabs then talked about using steel it on the steel octogon-cam and that thought didn’t even cross my mind. I’ll have to pull them off and treat them or spray them on there, let them dry, coat with Woolwax and hope for the best :bananadead:

Top of the day to everyone. This wind is nuts, I can't imagine what it must be like to be on the Nor'easter side of it.

I haven’t seen wind like this in a while and it seems to be all over the east coast. I was in the OBX last week and the house we rented was shaking so much it felt like I was on an air plane going through turbulence. I was thinking “at least it won’t be the same back home”, came home and it’s the same here lol

Thinking about ordering a Leer or similar camper shell.

Anyone have recommendations on features or a shop to order from?

I called Top City in Bear, DE. They want ~$2600 for a Leer 100R with no options. That’s with install and shipping.

Hard to stomach these prices, might be better off just keeping my Lomax.

I would just keep an eye on the used market. I sold my Leer 100XR a few months ago without any trouble. TrucknAmerica also has a used inventory on their website.

I paid much more than that for my ARE CX but I added a bunch of options since I plan on keeping my truck until the end of time. I would also suggest trying to find a used one if you don’t want to pay the full price.

FWIW, I love my ARE. It’s very well built and is an amazing addition to the truck. I went to Cap World, I think they’re kinda everywhere. I had a great experience with them.

The cap on your truck is configured nicely.

Thank you!! I put a couple months of thought and research into all the options before I placed the order. I don’t know about the other brands but ARE offers a lifetime warranty so that also helped me justify the price.

    Thanks for the input.

You noted ARE has a lifetime warranty. From what I read, Leer provides the same. But since it is only to the original owner, that’s a notch for “buy new.”

Just sooooo much money! I was hesitant to jump into a cap when I bought the Lomax, but now I’m seeing space wise why a canopy makes sense.

I had to run to Baltimore today to drop off this 400ex atv and to trade $200 worth of WV wine to a buddy of mine for this 6month old Maytag washer & dryer set. I don't need'em but for that price I snatched'em up and put'em in the basement for spares.

If you pulled off your camper shell, you could have put those in the bed! Well maybe one lol

    Nice find.

Yea but bed was full of some tools and a large Matco toolcart. And because I live so secluded I had to unload the washer & dryer solo. I rolled them right off my trailer with my dolly and my ramps.

Yeah it’s super expensive but I haven’t regretted it for one second because I use it so much and I’m able to bring so much more on trips.
