All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
If you cross the River to the other side and walk downstream about 15mins or so you will end up at the narrows. It’s a cool part of the river.

I parked there at the end of duck's creek trail and went towards where it says the falls is. There must have been a bad storm a while back because there was tons of down trees. They were pretty rotten too so it had to be a while ago.

I've camped there multiple times and I will say it's amazing during the summer time water stays cold all year round and is great for swimming.

I've been without service for a few days.

Got to see some Mayan ruins. These weren't the big kind like we were hoping....just an excuse to go back to a different site.

I want to explore this area as well.

Would you recommend someone bring a chainsaw to clear some of the downed trees? Want to go back soon?

Looks like you are on a pretty cool vacation. Yeah I'm definitely up for going back. Is it legal to just go out and cut up trees like that? I don't even know if it's privately owned property. Haha

Heck yeah we have cut several trees up there before. There is a campsite on the right before getting down to the beach and there was a uprooted tree that we cut up pretty good had three chainsaws up and going that night.

All this talk of BBQ....I need a new grill.

....and I'm not really sure where to start. Things have changed quite a bit, it seems, since I last bought a grill.

I want one of those fancy wifi connected pellet grills from an "i think it would be cool to have some good smoked meat" perspective, but not sure that makes the most sense for mainly cooking hotdogs and hamburgers.

I hear good things about those flat-top griddle style grills. I like the idea of one of those, but again, not sure that makes the most universal sense.

I'd kind of like to do a built-in stlye in our new porch addition. I think that would be sweet, but might take up a lot of space that would otherwise be useable. Then I start to think that I could do an outdoor built-in kitchen type setup that is just outside of the screened in porch and have a normal grill and a griddle side by side.

So in short, I'm all over the place and having a hard time landing on any one idea. Open to suggestions. I do know that I'm sticking with either electric (pellet) or propane for fuel/heating. I'm not going to run a natural gas line to anything...even if it is a built-in style.

Public or private...if a tree is laying across the road/path, I don't think anyone is going to complain about you clearing a downed tree.

My dad has a Yoter (just like a Traeger but made in America, not assembled) and it's super nice. But it's mostly for smoking, you'd burn through so many pellets for just grilling as you need it about 200* hotter for those. I'd recommend a propane grille if you're wanting hotdogs and hamburgers

Rectec is made in Evans, GA (I believe). They are also made in America and not just assembled. Those look nice, but $$$.

bought a used ceramic Vision grill for $300. (Normally 799) after 20 dollars to replace the felt seals i was cooking ribs in no time. Ceramic is good for searing steaks to slow cooking ribs and smoking chickens. Its also very efficient when slow cooking and helps extend my bag of lump coal. I do have a webber kettle for when i dont want to warm up the ceramic grill (quick week day grilling or hotdogs) Not a gas guy but thats a personal preference.
