    I agree that the Pentastar v6 was considered bombproof, but stating that Toyota is doing better than Fiat is a pretty low bar. I'm not sure I trust any modern auto manufacturer anymore. I really don't know what to buy anymore.

    IMHO, if it comes down to a "pick your poison" type situation, I always differ to the manu that has the least horrible, longest lasting (such as it is) rep for their vehicles. After owning Fiat products, GM products, Honda products and now a Toyota product, I can safely safe from experience that while Toyota may not have it perfect, they are doing as well if not better than any other manufacturer out there.
