Nice, yea ive already found another Tacoma that will be here in less than a week now. No TE but its got a few more options so im not upset. the only thing i was missing out on were the wheels and its not that deep for me.

The dealers don’t have to, nor do many give any updates at all. Most simply will only call you once the vehicles arrives on their lot.

Funny that when I pay $40 for a board from China I can track it every step of the way, but when someone pays $40k for a truck they have to just wait till it materializes at the dealer.

Who's crying? I understand shit happens. I was curious as to why they were delayed. No info from the dealer or manufacturer why. Doesn't matter now.

This was really my point in all this.

My biggest beef was that I spent over 30K for a 2nd gen Tacoma and they could not find a way to display the outside temperature? After they had it in the same model in previous years? It is useful in Maine to know in advance when the roads are getting close to icing temps. :angrygirl::annoyed:

I had that happen. The reason given to me was that the paint color of the bumper didn't match the color of the rest of the truck. Apparently they are painted at different facilities. The amount of time to correct the problem was unknown.

I decided to cancel the order and ended up buying one at another dealer.

Did you ever get your truck? Mine arrived at port 2 days ago and is now on QC hold. Wondering if I should work on getting another one or just wait for a potential couple more months.

"QC" as in Quality Control? Maybe some damage or optional equipment install?

If they are getting port installed options, it usually takes a few days, then goes on a truck to dealership, all dates are tracked and estimated. My truck was out on hold for a “QC Hold” and all shipment dates are “Unavailable” and that typically means it sits for a month or so until they either get around to correcting it or it whatever reason. It’s just a major delay in delivering.

My '13 5 lug displays outside temp.

Yea, I had to buy the mirror to do that (also backup cam, autodim) from a member here, but it was an easy PnP.

    Were the '14s not prewired?

Sort of. I think it was possible to install a back-up mirror and plug into an existing plug but I could never pull the trigger on that added expense. I have since purchased an outside/inside temp gauge that fits into a stock opening on the dash. I just need to install it....sigh.

The dock workers are on strike on the west coast. I wonder if that is causing an issue somehow.

Never did, but that's only due to me finding a OR that i swapped to. Ended up getting a better deal in the process. Nothing against the TE, I really liked certain parts of it but I think the OR is better bang for buck

Probably not too many of us on here that know what that was about. Gene was masterful in that one.... The Conversation was good too.

My truck made it by rail to the port in Kansas so I don’t think the strike on the west coast would impact that. But who knows these days…

If you have the vin number you can track your truck in the Toyota app. When we bought my wife's 4 runner as soon as it hit port the salesman was able to get me the vin.
